Warsaw, Poland: Heroes, Memorials, and Restoration KISSbestfan: Because they aint educated, and they think, that its the same stuff as USRR (because of the Iron Courtain.
In fact, many of people from Poland emigrated for a better salary to other countries. And yes, they earned more, but they also had to spend more abroad, because of higher prices. Most people just didnt liked the goverment, or were involved by Polish mass media. People in UK treated Polish workers as they steal their work places
I'm from Poland, and I dont want to leave. This is my home.

Rick Steve, you should return to Poland and especially to Warsaw, Krakow, Czestochowa (Jasna Gora monastery, Gdansk, the Malbork castle, Torun, Lublin and Zamosc, in order to make a proper programme about the heritage from the greatest and most tolerant European nation in the 16th century, The Polish-Lithuanian commonwealth (Rzeczpospolita.
The programme should also give the viewers the possibility to explore more of the life of the polish people and their rich cultural and culinary heritage.

By the way. The history of Warsaw is veeeeery underrated, and should be corrected. I'm now studying a history of Warsaw, and many things are needed to be correct. Also in Poland.
The first thing is that NO ONE has ever moved a capital from Krakow to Warsaw. Till 1795, when Poland has dissapeared from the map, all the kings were coronated at Krakow - only the king's place was in Warsaw. It actually became a capital in 1918 after we fought for freedom, and also it won a competition with Radom.

And at least - thank you for a great short review of a Warsaw! I'm often sad, because people mostly get there, to earn money, and not only abroad hates it, but even people from smaller Polish towns. Mostly because, the old city was rebuilt, using materials from the other towns buildings, and even now, everyone at Poland are paying taxes to built the subway connection in Warsaw. It was beautiful city, but now, its multicultural, and multriurbanistical (I mean it have so much different buildings)

While hitler ordered implementation of Fall Weiss in early '39, 82, 000 Polish-speaking volksdeutschen-5th columnists were recruited & trained in espionage/sabotage i. e, shooting in rear of Polish troops, detonating bombs, spreading disinformation etc. Selbstschutz worked with Einsatzgruppen in massacres of Poles. Wilhelm Richardt, said in Karolewo camp that he did not want to build camps for Poles & feed them, and that it was an honour for Poles to fertilize german soil with their corpses

The second thing is that, Poland was the only country (I believe) in the world, where the royal castle WAS NOT a property of a king. Thats because our kings were later mostly elected, and so, they just had to make their own place to live (like the Palace at Wilanow.
The third thing is, that an uprising was actually lost, but once I read a memorial of a german soldier, who attended (to shut it down, where he states that he actually saw russians after uprising. Again, two faces of history

Eh what? Poland actually never surrendered to Germany in WW2, just Warsaw. The Polish government fleed in exile to France where the Polish forces were remobilized and kept on fighting. After the fall of France the government moved to the UK where the Polish soldiers fought with the Brits on almost all major fronts until 1945. We fought the longest time out of all Allies. In 1939 Poland got attacked by both Nazi Germany and the Soviet Union, how were we supposed to win anyway without any help?

You go and read about the Bloody Sunday, a. k. a. 'The Bromberg massacre, ' to learn what actually happened there, before you write this nonsense again. If you actually read and studied the history before the WW2, you would know there were many incidents at the German-Polish border, which were planned and started or provoked by Germans. Then those events were used by the Nazi Ministry of Propaganda (Goebells) to justify the invasion of Poland, to indoctrinate the Nazi soldiers.

how you can say they fight for free Poland. they fight for themselves. Among 400 000 Jews only 1300 attempt to fight against Germans. and they smash them in two weeks.
rest of them belive than they will pay to germans contribution and they will be freed.
when soviet occupant took power in Poland after 1944 most of jews accept collaboration with NKVD soviet secret police and they get permission to murder Poles who was against new terror. Look at JOZEF SWIATLO reveled.

reply

Absolutely RIGHT; typical false flag operation has already been used by the Germans! This Bloody Sunday propaganda is now being used by Hitler apologists to whitewash the inconvenient truth. They feel uncomfortable about the unjust war imposed on Poles who saved Europe from Bolshevism in 1920, but conveniently prefer not to member it. No excuse will apologise Germany's action in 1939! The nazis and soviets wanted the fourth partitioning of Poland!
