This is nicely prepared! Forgive me if you did it but I am surprised that you didn't say anything about beautiful places/cities, mountains, rivers, lakes. food and customes. amazing dances in/from Bosnian and Herzegovina. Bosnia (and Dubrovnik) existed as a country by themselves before any other Republics in x-Yugoslavia. People are tired to listen ONLY about war. It's not interesting to listen and watch about the war in Bosnia anymore. Yes, we cannot forget but let's move on! I appreciate and I am sure many of my people will appreciate if you visit and prepare more educational spots about Bosnian and Herzegovina Thanks!

The war was started by the Serbs, who wanted to annex it to Serbia, and continued on when the Croats decided to annex it to Croatia.
The city is still located where it's always been, IN Bosnia Herzegovina.
That fact really ticks off the local Croat right wing ultra-nationalists.
After centuries of living in Bosnia Hercegovina, they still can't stand the sight of so many mosques.
Unfortunately for the bigots,
Mostar is SPECIAL exactly because of its Islamic-Ottoman architecture.

TheCoffeequeen77 Are you serious? Do you realize that the city hasn't had a city government in over 10 months because Bosniaks refuse to give up power to the Croat majority of Mostar. Mostar is one of the most divided cities in Europe and ethnic tension is at an all time high with ethnic Croats demanding a 3rd mini-republic for themselves in bosnia with it's capital in Mostar.
To be honest, considering how fundamental many Bosniaks (muslims) have become, I don't blame the Croats.

hahah dude mostar was never croat city, i was born and leaved 20 years in mostar, it was always city owned my mostar people no matter of religion, and now when all real born mostar citizen have left the city and all the skutori have come from montins down to the city want croat city and reflect everything on religion.

bosniaks were sandwiched within theire own country. moreover bosnia's only neighbors were croatia and serbia. moreover they didn't have foreign supplies because they were surrounded by their enemies, nor did they have an organized standing army.
of course they killed people, they were fighting for their own lives!

Travel as a Political Act brought me here- such a great book! The Ottoman Turks invaded the region in the 15th century and brought Islam, converting some of the locals. Mostar was and still is a Croatian city. Mostar get its name from the Croatian word most meaning Bridge. The name of the town has got old Croatian roots not Turkish ones like Sarajevo i. e Saraj.

Croats destroyed the Bridge! Now they make their stories after the war like some of the Serbs. They took out the Muslim people's pride. Now they want the city. The Bridge was built by Suleiman The Magnificent as a sign of harmony of religions.

Rick makes great videos, but political view of this one is wrong. Mostar ain't gonna prosper. Croats and Bosnian Muslims are avoiding contacts with each other. Western Mostar is Croatian and eastern part of a town is Bosnian.
