Rick Steves' Europe Travel Guide Nestled inside its mighty ramparts is Dubrovnik, the Pearl of the Adriatic. From this remarkably preserved medieval fortress city, we venture into less-touristed corners of the former Yugoslavia. In Bosnia-Herzegovina, we visit Mostar war-torn in the '90s, but bursting with promise today. In Montenegro, we sail the fjord-like Bay of Kotor and explore its mysterious, mountainous interior. 2010 Rick Steves' Europe

Hi Mr. Steves. I really enjoy your travel guide tours.
In this special one, you've visited my country Bosnia and Herzegovina and its city Mostar and thank you for that. I just wanted to point out one small detail. At 1: 00 you said we will meet 3 major ethnic groups saying Croats, Serbs, and Muslims. Instead of Muslims you should have said Bosniaks, which is their real name. A Muslim would be a religious category and not ethnic.
Thank you and keep making such videos. Love from Bosnia and Herzegovina!

In order to support an extremely false statement about the roofs in Dubrovnik being damaged by Yugoslav army (actually Montenegrin army led by Milo Djukanovic still in power there, there should be at least a single photo presentable for the purpose in this part of the Universe. Positively it does not exist, it cannot be found because it never happened.
I do not know the reason for replacing the roofs in the old town, but DEFINITELY they were not destroyed back then, apart from maybe a few ones.

Still not even 20 years ago that all of this happened. I tried to picture myself in her place as she talked about what it was like to live and die in the very street they walked down. So sad! Such a beautiful piece of the world though and I am so glad they are living peacefully and rebuilding. I would so love to visit there on day! I'm in the United States and long to visit Europe!

It's inaccurate to claim that war was inevitable. People of different persuasions got on just fine for centuries, or at least no worse than anywhere else.
Western meddling was the only real cause of the war in this region. There may have been certain tensions. But they could never have got anywhere without external pressure and funding.

I appreciate how reserved and respectful his narrative and his questions are. No sardonic, cynical comments and no hiding unpleasant facts.
J. May could learn a thing or two about good manners from this American.

Looks like it was all made by Santa Claus. They've done a great job of rebuilding the country. And the visitors keep coming. It was very poignant to hear her talking about her departed friends.

Kotor came out directly from the Lord of the Rings. I don't think Tolkien could have seen it; much of his original inspiration were in place like Ireland and Switzerland; impressive.

The man in Dubrovnik was obviously lying about the grenades ripping open the roof of his house.
Montenegro has a population of around 600. 000, which is far from a million.
