I've always lived just outside Durham City exactly as the video. I remember when I was so young boy we moved to to Esh Winning. It had been snowing on and off for weeks and the snow was higher than the bus i had just got off. what a shock to my system. But a lovely village ive been here 57 years now and wouldn't swap for anywhere else. Durham County has so much you could spend weeks exploring.

I was sent on camping holidays, mobiles they called them. We walked for about 6 hours and set up camp. The lake district excelled itself as a breeding ground for midges. A midge is smaller than a flea yet bites as big as a mosquito they came in through the netting. Clouds. The only nice part was Kendle Mint cake bars

I remember an American friend coming over here for short visit. She was absolutely taken away by our countryside and wouldn't stop going on about it and showing pictures of, to me, average English countryside. I guess I've took Englands countryside for granted.

Thanks Steven for presenting this video, because I am a ardent admirer of lake district, having done masters in English literature. And so familiar with William Wordsworth, Samuel Taylor Coleridge' Ancient Mariner', and Robert Southey.

wandered lonely as a cloud
That floats on high o'er vales and hills,
When all at once I saw a crowd,
A host of golden daffodils;
Beside the lake, beneath the trees,
Fluttering and dancing in the breeze.

A brilliant insight into Durham which is a lovely unspoiled city and definitely one of my favourites Northern England is criminally under rated and a must visit for anyone.

Lake district is one of the most beautiful places on earth, paying a visit to this beautiful and well preserved district is most enjoyable holiday.

Wow. It's so beautiful. It's such a contrast to the overcrowded, crime-infested concrete cities that we live in. This is beautiful.
