The villagers, some of them have never stepped into a modern mall to do shopping. Are you nuts? The Liguri, inhabitants of the region, are among the most voracious travellers in history, BTW Cristoforo Colombo was a Ligure, and in modern times (I have house in the region) the locals work only for 4-5 months a year with their (expensive) cafes, restaurants, hotels, gelaterie and such and spend the rest of the cold season in Miami, Australia, the Carribean, Thailand, Sumatra, the BVI or Mexico. sheeesh. never been in amodern shopping mall. they are all rich from tourism since the times of ancient Roma (Liguria was called Narbonensis and it was famed for it's healing air and temperate climate.
