Veliko Tarnovo, Bulgaria: Medieval Capital The: I am sorry to say this but the words Here shall be Bulgaria are from Khan Asparuh. He founded Bulgaria in 681 AD and he was from the Dulo Dynasty but in 1018 Byzantium took over Bulgaria. In 1178 AD the Asen Dynasty were Bulgarian nobles and they rebelled against Byzantium and created the Second Bulgarian Kingdom after 160 years of Byzantian rule over us. The Asens didn't create Bulgaria they were just one of the many dynasties that were our monarchs: )

Wonderful city! I visited Veliko Tarnovo couple of years ago and fall in love with it! There are plenty more gorgeous places in the city, than in this video. Every corner of the city is full of history and simply wonderful! Would like to go there again!

Mr Rick i admire your efforts and contributions towards tourism. I have seen few places once or twice but when i saw those on screen in your programs i wish i could again go there and see all those places with new spirit and under your guidance.
