Loving the mod's. The back tent is a game changer. The solar system is really adaptable and will be easy to maneuver into position with changing light. The sliding table is very cool, and perfect for a small space. The light I feel might get annoying, as it seems as if it's shining into your eyes as much as onto the work area. Maybe a strip of wood or plastic mounted to shield the light from directly shining into your eyes at night while you cook etc.
But the most important thing, sad to hear about Jax, and I hope he pulls through with a full recovery, He's the Co-star of the show, and as can be seen in the comments, loved by everyone.

That tent will also be good in windy days or just bitter cold. It's a shame to cook when the wind tries to blow out the flames or get the food colder than the ice chest did! There are a couple of options - you might look for the bug screens people put into their fan doors. The outer edges would have to be sewn or rived to the tent but they close with magnets so kids can't leave them open. Another thought would be to have a tailor (or Simon, a block in the woods) teach you how to sew one yourself. Good luck. That temp is one thing here in the desert but in humidity, it's miserable. I'd also call it muggy.

You could add a little raspberry pi to your setup. Doesn't use a lot of energy, is as small as a fire stick, but you have your own full computer within it. Load up an SD card or an external drive with movies and shows (or get an external bluray drive and take some blurays/DVDs with you, and music, and you'll always have some entertainment there. And if you need to do some administrative work, or just want to browse around, you can use it for that too.

Not only will your tent keep the rain out, it will keep out the wind when you can't cook over a campfire. Nothing worse than when your trying to cook in the wind and your butane keeps blowing out. Drawer looks great! You'll love the solar panel power, especially in your unit that doesn't use a lot of power, you'll always have enough power! Your feelings towards your dog says more about how good of a man you are! Cheers mate!

Couple of things Mike some little felt non-slip pads for the bottom of the stove legs, and the gas container down on the middle shelf for when you are cooking and bless me is that not almost the same as the radio tent that would be attached to your Land Rover, RCT not Siggs, you could probably just leave the teardrop camper attached to the Lanny with the Radio tent. Jim from Scotland 1 SQN RCT.

This was a fun video, Mike. Sorry to hear our Jaxx is so under the weather with his eye and I’m hoping he recovers soon and his back out with you sharing your adventures. Really like what you’re doing with the teardrop camper and all seems cozy and well organized inside. Very clever ideas. Thanks so much for sharing, and as always, stay safe and well. Looking forward to another video.

Good afternoon. Remember, there is the 5 second rule on dropped food.
You have made a nice setup for yourself. What possessed you to remove your water spigot from your camper An idea for screens on your tent. RV/camper stores sell mesh doors that adhere with velcro and have magnetic zippers. Just get a set in the proper size and you are good as gold. Rhank you for sharing your adventures.

Great set up. We owned a landcruiser troopcarrier with the alicab pop top roof etc. one of the best features was a screened enclosure which went over yhe back doors just like your set up. It had roll up sides so here in Australia when the temps get to 40 you could sit inside away from the flies and bugs. We found it that good that our next build may not have the roof conversion.

Here in Missouri in the central United States, we also use the term muggy, and anyone familiar with our weather knows that it describes virtually the entire April through September period. Hot and humid all day every day. Love the camper and tent. Looking forward to your next video. Hopefully Jacks will be recovered and able to join you.

I hope Jax is going to be okay. Love the mods, and the tent addition. I agree with another comment about hanging netting over those open doors with some sort of Velcro or other attachments material. When the rain runs down the tent part that goes over the boot, what stops it from running into your kitchen where the boot hinges

Well, now it's a two-room accommodation; you can put a chair and a table in the tent room to make a kitchen dining room. Throw in one of those toilet tents and a porta-potty set up nearby, maybe add a tarp to the roof bars and some poles to give you a dry spot outside the teardrop's door, and you have a full house lol.

With the solid solar panel, you could get some bracket fixings and fit them to the panel that just snap on over the roof rack that you would typically bolt on.
Trick is, you don’t bolt it on. So you can pick it up whenever you want and that way the rack itself is always free to be used however you want.

great upgrades, in a former life I have run missing persons searches from tents just like that, just the right size for utility. one suggestion, could you place the solar blanket over the tent, its out the way but good elevation to capture the sunlight. overall a good addition all round and versatile.

You have a solar blanket, have you considered a fire blanket It puts out a fire and is usually reusable and doesn't create the mess a fire extinguisher does. Gave one to my daughter and can report it put out a stovetop fire she had and can be used again. They don't take up much room either.

Hi mate, buy yourself an OZ Tent 5. It also comes with side covers and a tag along vestibule for additional sleeping. Ive had one since 2008. Cannot fault them. Complete waterproof, floor mosquito screens etc. The main tent is set up in 30 seconds. Get one and try it. Cheers Derek.

Aww poor jax hope he makes a speedy recovery bless him. Great set up, The tent extensions perfect but agree it does need some mesh for the bugs maybe you can make something that sticks on or magnetic tape on the mesh and tent that can be attached when needed. Great video as always.

That works so well with the tear drop!
Great to see you roll the door inwards, the correct way to ensure the inside of the door is protected. a personal gripe of mine when you see people roll it the wrong way so the inside gets wet when it does rain. Simple OCD approval!

This is a very handy kit! Sorry about Jax, but keeping the eye clean tops about everything. Maybe you could hang a bug mesh around one or both doors. Or, as it was a less expensive addition, you could purchase one that would work better for you.
