I came across the beginning of this build in error and now i am hooked. I am from the Caribbean and try to do quite a bit with recycle material and pallets, for the fun of it and the end results. Some times it don't really work out as planned, but hey just like you guys I get a really good kick out of it. I love the great out doors and seeing that you 2 came together to get this going, inspiring this much audience not just because of the build but the connection that you are building is remarkable. Oh in the US a porch is without the banisters and the veranda is with them. Hope I get this right, I would get bashed if its not. Anyways good job guys, wanna see the end of it. Dad if you don't get home on time you will be locked out, the ladies don't mess around. :)

I think it's a great thing your doing, the only thing I would like to say is, brand 3m wood water Proofing for wood might save the longevity of this nice cabin, you put this time into it. it's not cheap the 3m stuff just get a pressure pump sprayer, wash it out and you can reuse it the sprayer, I thing you Be adding years to this cabin, The stuff really works, and once of prevention is worth it, I did my building with 3m for brick and the water beads off of it, stops mold and everything, from building on the tuck point, Just thought I give a shout out, good job guys really, hats off to you, Don't just go out, Go out and Live, hats off to you,

Hola you guy's, I was thinking its time you started to have a look around the wood for rabbit, very good eating, and very easy to snare, I have snared hundreds of rabbits in my time, I can actualy skin and gut a rabbit in 40 seconds, but the best way to eat rabbit is to slow cook in a pot with stock and vegetables, there is no fat on a rabbit so they do not roast very well unless less you can baste them with pork fat, let's see you living of the land for a couple of day's.

What you guys are doing, reminds me of in my early forties. I bought a house, and put a new roof and stuff on it. After that money was short, and my dad, who has gone now, and myself decided to extend the front of the old shed and make the rest waterproof. We just used recycled materials from the scrap pile from the house. It was the best time we had together. problem solving and doing it as a team. I recomend this sort of thing to any father and son

Loving the Hobo mansion video series. I haven't watched in a while over christmas, but it seems to going great. I just hope some hobo (is that a US term or UK) doesn't find it in the meantime and move in or you get the police out there ejecting you for squatting (or whatever it's called over there. Good stuff boys, I'll catch up eventually with your vids. Best of luck from Oz. PS. Hope Alex builds you a decent knife, the fire steel looked nice.

Fantastic job guys, I love that stove. Do be careful about carbon monoxide in such a small enclosed space though - I know you've fitted a flue but with the door closed I'm worried you might not have enough ventilation. Maybe think about a couple of vents somewhere in the cabin just to make sure you get plenty of air circulating, and put a CO alarm in there as well if you're going to spend any time in there with the stove going.

A veranda is a roofed platform along the outside of a house, level with the ground floor. Synonyms: porch, gallery, balcony, lanai, sun porch, stoop. A porch is a covered shelter projecting in front of the entrance of a building. Synonyms: vestibule, foyer, entrance (hall, entry, portico, lobby; veranda, terrace; stoop; lanai, tambour, narthex. So essentially they are the same thing.

Honestly, I don't mean to criticize but, . well I'm going to criticize. You need to get that cabin up out of the damp soil. It's a waste of time and effort to build something that will rot and why will it rot? Leaves will connect the soil to the wood. Fungus will grow and send filaments over the tiny amount of space. Get it up so you work is not wasted.

To point out on the space provided and bed I think you easily could have done a bunk bed of sorts or a double bed where one pulls out from under the under and stores nicely under one when pout away: D So many possibilities here and even a wash sink of sorts that pulls down out side of the cabin itself: D Great job and dinner looked great.
