Bushcraft Camp - Solo Overnight in the Super Shelter, Axe, Campfire, Lean to Shelter

I head to the Bushcraft Camp for a solo overnight in the super shelter. After months of shelter building and camp updates, it has been nice to finally spend a night alone in the forest. I slept on the raised bed in the Giant Lean-to shelter, which I use as the primary shelter for the camp now. The secondary moss shelter will still get use in the future. The Hunting Tower and ladder are both still standing strong, and the new fire pit with air tunnel is working so well I cook up some food on the grill, test out my new hand-forged axe, as well as attempt another primitive bow drill this time with soft wood. The woods were so peaceful at this time of year, and I am looking forward to bringing my Dog Jaxx along with me to the camp. With the tarp roof now raised, it has allowed much better air flow and the smoke flows right out of the camp. Since extending the perimeter walls of the camp there is much more room inside. Doing a solo overnight at the Bushcraft Camp helped me to spend more time developing some Bushcraft and Survival skills in the wilderness

Where are you at. the shelter is insane LOL I love it I'm in Arkansas. i can't find aney one that does it. i need to get out of here I'm getting fat. and I'm out of shape. my so called man doesn't want to do anything but use the computer geek so he is. hes a blind sheep to everything he thinks everything is sunshine and rain bows nothing is going to happen. I've learned so much from videos like this. and I'm into Bush craft camping i can make a shelter track game if i have to. but I'm worried about my age I'm 50. we all know that something bad will happen just don't know when. being ready for it. is a plus.

I just watched 'Fowler's Makery. ' on YouTube: he lasted 87 Days Alone in Patagonia and he has plenty of outdoor skills. He said that only ONE of the contestants in the run-up 'Boot Camp' for the show could start a fire with a bow drill (and it wasn't him) Just today, he did fine with a bow drill package of the proper woods and cordage (from Amazon) and had total failure with carefully selected elements from the area around his base camp. Bow drills are not for everyone. and they never worked for me.

Yes, we really watch these videos more than once I REALLY LIKED your first fire crane at Badger's Rest because you installed another post to stop the crane from sliding downward. It also seemed to aid in rotating the crane into and out of the fire. You built this one differently. Just to be varied or why? Your collaborative Alec Steel/Mike Pullen hatchet would look fine processing wood for the G-Stove at the Pallet Cabin.

I reckon it was a horse, they're quite curious. You probably just didn't hear hooves since you didn't scare it enough to get it galloping, they're surprisingly quiet when they want to be. You should get yourself up to Cumbria at some point, buy some proper Cumberland sausages from a wee village in the North, gotta be in old Cumberland, best come from Carlisle and Allerdale. Then you can go camping in the Lake District

Hi Mike, just watched the video, and i don't know if you were aware, but its sounds like you have a Goshawk in your permission You can hear it calling when you are making your feather sticks, at around the 57 mins mark, when you cut to the close up shot, of you shaving the stick. Really nice to hear it, lovely birds of prey. Anyway thanks for the upload and greetings from Scotland. Atb Stuart.

Loved the video While watching the video, I was thinking about how you could compact some toothpaste in that compact toothbrush you have. Ive seen videos how people take straws (like a plastic drinking straw) and they burn/melt the edges, squeeze toothpaste in, cut and burn the other end and have like a trial, one-use, dollop of toothpaste. Just a thought

um just so you know coozie is not what we hold our beer in. although it is something wet and we men like to enjoy at the end of a long day. not all women want the attention. a cozy. is what we put our beer in. it keeps them cold longer and keeps you from freezing your fingers. I can see your confusion though lol. its a long O not a stunted one

Your accents are good and funny. challenge. do the accent if where the beer is from. thanks for the vid again. open, honest, warm, homely, dedicated, totally interesting and entertaining. thank you, may you go from strength to strength. you are not alone. there are thousands with you.

One bad thing about watching a British video from America is I have to research to convert Celsius degrees to Fahrenheit. :) I like the new axe. Appreciate the tips. Pine trees equal widow makers. Roots to close to the surface. Too bad you don't have a woodland with hardwoods.

Thats one bad ass camp axe bro. Love your vids and your shelter building skills are top notch. Make more vids of building shelters. And my most favorite bushcraft vids are late night camp life and cooking vids. Make more of those. But you rock bro. Very skilled woodsman you are.
