The sights are breathtaking and exploring the streets at the crest, full of stores, bars and restaurants is a good pastime. A suspended cable car takes you from the base (the port, to the top of the crater. The scorching sun, the blinding glare and climbing stairs is not my thing; besides shopping jewelry and crafts, there is not much to do in Santorini. I spent a full day there, after having arrived in a cruise ship; most convenient way to get there. If you are to spend one or two nights there, lay by the pool and don't forget to take with you Durrell's Alexandria Quartet.

We spent 4 days ikieshotel July of this year and loved every minute of our stay. There are deals to be had on Oia and Ikies was less money and I had the same view as some of the more expensive options. Santorini is awesome. The best poolside naps I have ever taken were taken in Oia. Just the right amount of shade under the umbrella, temp, and wind. I believe no matter the hotel the views will be spectacular. Thanks for taking me back to Oia on this work Monday morning Staff of the hotel was so friendly as well.

I had a week in Santorini for a friends wedding in 2010. They were married outside a chapel on top of the cliff. Hot but beautiful Then a lovely sunset dinner on a restaurant terrace overlooking the caldera. Did you do one of the sailboat cruises while you were there? They were beautiful. You can get out and go and walk on the volcano edges (very hot underfoot) and swim in sulphur pools. A holiday to remember

I am not sure that anyone else experiences what happen to me when I stay at places like this. The setting and breathtaking scenery absolutely causes me to lose all concentration on almost anything else. I cannot read a single page of a book. I cannot remember a single line of a script. I literally am unable to concentrate on anything. It is a place that after awhile I have to escape from.

Once again, Greece my dream destination, and Santorini is the exact spot, all of these sites are blowing me away, i could live in this place and not get home sick, love how the houses are on a cliff over looking the sea, best fresh air, i like simplicity and elegance. Lots of attractive feature with this property, i love the views of the sea, i'm a water baby, very nice property.

My question is how long does it take to walk from this hotel in the video to the center of Oia? I go with my parents, who have difficulty walking long. Thank you for your scholarly response. Went to Greece this summer and it had been one of the greatest experiences Ive ever had the privilege to go through although Webdidnt book any hotels like this in santorini the scenery alone makes it all worth it. It was particularly fun hiking from thira to oia

Another fantastic video Brought back memories. Have you ever stayed in Imerovigli further along the coast? Smaller and less busy than Oia but still the same stunning caldera view. There are some great restaurants there too.

I was visiting greek friends this summer and we all went to Oia. It was by far the best vacation I have ever taken, we went to the bottom of the cliff and jumped off some huge rocks which I saw in the video lol.
