Join me on this flight in Avianca's Business Class onboard a Boeing 787 Dreamliner from Bogota to Madrid. Avianca is Colombia's flagship carrier and the second oldest airline in the world. luihime: Avianca cancelling flights excusing themselves with the technical failure card. Why am I not surprised? These people are a sorry excuse of an airline, and on top of that, United Airlines will take over them soon. The worst of the USA and the worst of Colombia together in terms of airlines combined. On behalf of Colombians here, I apologize for what you had to experience with Avianca and hope you never have to go through it again.

Strange you do not like travelling over water, I'd rather ditch in the sea rather than trying to ditch into a mountain: )Great review as always. I don't think much of their catering, did not punch above it's weight. Note that GE powered 787 just had an issue with both engines not running properly. At least RR work when you are on-board and they are not in the engineering shop

Well, I have had very bad experiences with Avianca as a frequent flyer that I am, so I understand your feeling at the beginning. Besides that, it was a cool video. I don't think I will ever need to flight to Europe in Avianca as we got direct flights from Panama in the main European Airlines, but it good to know how Avianca does it when it comes to transatlantic flights.

Backwards and forwards across the Atlantic. Afraid of the water no, conscious yes. I am aware that getting to a runway increases our chances of survival dramatically over ditching in an ocean if theres an emergency. I try to put it out of mind thinking the stats will save me. However, theres something very special about being 40, 000 ft and remote.

Very interesting and detailed review as usual. Thanks for posting. Do they serve the starter and main course at the same time? I don't like it when you have to chose between either eating your starter quickly or your main course cold. Apart from that, Avianca appear to have a very decent Business Class product. Breakfast looked nice; -)

I know some people love the whole flying experience, but to me it's just a method of getting from a to b. My last flight earlier this year was 11 hours, and to me it was just 11 hours of boredom. Unfortunately no matter what I do, I have never been able to sleep on a plane. Interesting review as always however.

A proper review of Aviancas business class I'm flying Bogota London on 3K in August. Can't wait Flew years ago in their 767's but their business class was like premium economy nowadays. Thanks for mentioning that Avianca is the second oldest airline in the world, not a lot of people know that Cheers N'Beers

the corrosion of an aircraft is a serious problem nowadays, that's why I'm taking this probs as my undergraduate degree thesis, then i do a research to found a formula (natural chemical solution) to prevent the corrode. but the main reason was because its aviation tho

I would be more afraid to fly over the North Pole. Imagine crash landing there and dying from the cold, like what happened to Roald Amundsen when he crashed there in his plane. Airplanes have life rafts for their passengers. They don't have polar equipment.
