Join me on a tour of Six Senses Singapore. The hotel comprises two distinct heritage properties, both of them located in Singapore's Chinatow: Six Senses Duxton & Six Senses Maxwell.
Heavens: I went to Raffles in 1979 aged 14. Before dusk, a still, pink sunset. Just a visit. Wandered off, up the stairs and saw Rudyard Kipling had a plaque on his favourite bedroom door. It was a magnificent moment, imagining through the locked door, his desk with billowing white thin sheath of privacy, comforting sounds, and an evening breeze. I was suddenly in the moment, repeating his words. The entire city smelled hedonistic to me. In that moment, the building and author and Singapore were timeless unforgettable treasures to me. This video has reminded me, thank you. My first (LP) album aged three was The Jungle Book. My parents had delicious gin and tonics on the grass. I learned about the famous gin sling, and those same patents were none the wiser in the moment to my overwhelming appreciation of their parenthood. Date: 2020-02-01
