Read my trip report here: TrangleC: I've only done 4 long range (12 to 13 hours from Frankfurt to Beijing/Shanghai and back) flights in my life, but those were between 2003 and 2005 in Boeing 747. Economy class. No TV screen back then. It was so tedious and soul crushingly boring. Back then I also didn't have a smart phone. All I could do was to try to read and listen to music and audio books from my primitive 4 GB MP3 player. It was really cold in the cabin and my ears were popping all the time, as if the plane would have changed altitude constantly over the whole 12/13 hour flight. I can only assume there was something wrong with the pressurizing system. But then again, it was like that in all 4 flights/planes, so I guess the 747 just sucked that way. Even for economy class, it was an unacceptably grueling experience. When we flew into turbulences, I even enjoyed that, because it was a nice distraction and the nicest thing that happened during the whole flight.

I was not particulary impressed by the food. Strawberry was alone and seemed to be not that fresh and delicious. A very normal strawberry that I can buy in the supermarket. The rest of the fruits were what every single restaurant offers year long. Here, for the price, no exotic, expensive fruits. oranges, melon, ananas (exotic but cheap, papaya and currants. The dishes. very very ordinaire despite of the big title of each of them. Potatoes with onion. cherry-tomatoes. come on. I cook better than that. I saw also a board personnel who was not smilingAnd all these passengers in front of an. other screen. they can't do anything else anyway, except drinking alcohol to decrease their anxiety: -)If people think it's a great experience, then we don't share the same experience of the word great.

In my travels I have gone from my home city to many destinations using different carriers on the same trips over the years. In my humble opinion the best is Emirates for service, entertainment, beautiful hostesses for all classes. It's as though national pride comes first rather than the money. Few airline can do that The only down side especially if it's the month of Ramadan there are limitations on serving alcohol & they don't serve pork, but fair enough, respect for others beliefs You will find the same on all other Arabic airlines like Qatar, Etihad.

dont let this airline fool you, i know some people have said they are very good and i was told they where the best, think again. After booking two seats here in Adelaide through to Dublin and same on return, after boarding the plane in dublin for my return flight, we where told our two seats had been taken, we were told by the stewartess if we didnt like it you can get off the plane, just like that, also, they dont give you enough time to catch your connecting flight, so no time to grab a cup of coffee, no more flying with Emirates.

Equality has come a long way everywhere except inside an airplane-a place where necessities are still marketed as luxuries in the name of profit. Everyone sleeps horizontally, needs ample leg room, and a good meal not just those who can afford flying first class. The concept of travel class shouldn't mean discriminating based on social class. At a time where innovation in STEM fields is trying to make the world a better place for EVERYONE, it's a shame that airline companies can't seem to keep up.

I flew with Emirates 2 years ago from Zurich to Sydney and i flew business class, not to show off or because i am rich, but because i have a back problem with a lot of pain and i cant sit all that way without going through hell, it was a lot better being able to lie down and take the strain off my back, its worth it to pay extra if its for health reasons. There are a lot of reasons why people fly business class.

For some reason, i flew to and fro Kuala Lumpur and London 4 times this year by Qatar airline. I would purposely choose the particular flight by A380 from Doha to London cuz it's the aircraft which you could feel the least tremor during the turbulence, but it's really tiring for a 7 hours flight from Doha to London (precipitated by the previous 7 hours flight from Kuala lumpur to Doha.

I flew business class with Emirates from Birmingham to Hong Kong via Dubai on the A380. Such an amazing experience Love the video, it brings back memories My seat was in the centre isle 3 from the front. I kept the wash bags and the eye masks lol. I'm 6 3 so didn't quite fit in the seat in 'bed mode' but it was still pretty comfy.
