KENTUCKY: Quaint Towns With Beautiful Town Squares And Neighborhoods
video description
You guys really do have a beautiful country with such rich history. My heart does go out to you guys regarding your opioid crisis though and how it has affecting everyone.
And one last thing. what is dollar general They seem to have taken over small towns and in the process closed down local stores And in small towns with children, where so they go to school if the schools have closed I would imagine not all parents can homeschool

A noted resident of Bowling Green was the late Dr. Howard R. Carpenter, who joined Western Kentucky University as a Professor Music in 1953, headed the department from 1965-1975, and finally retired from the University in 1984. His son John grew up in Bowling Green and for a while attended WKU before relocating to California to attend USC. He of course went on to a rather successful career as a filmmaker, noted for movies like Assault on Precinct 13, Halloween, The Fog, Escape from New York, The Thing and many more. John is also frequently recognized for scoring his own movies, obviously having acquired a talent for music from his father. While attending school in Bowling Green one of John's classmates and close friends was Tommy Lee Wallace, who would become a frequent collaborator with John - as a production designer, editor, musician, and writer. He wrote the script for and directed Halloween III: Season of the Witch, and would later direct the original TV mini-series adaptation of Stephen King's IT.

From India: Sir - all the efforts you are putting in to shoot and show us all, the length and breadth of USA is very unique. It is so selfless. It is very much commendable that you are funding it totally with your personal monies. this entire private documentary of yours will certainly sit as part of the US history for the future generations if they choose to see and get to know how things were during the first quarter of 21 st century. Hope your Federal Government takes note of your efforts and supports you financially and otherwise too as required. with regards

Now HERE is an overall, under-rated state.
While large parts of it have deep problems, other parts are especially wholesome and good.
Not in, necessarily, a glamorous way, but in a quality of life, way.
Bowling Green, is nice, but while, supposedly, having strong Southern historical connections, it FEELS very Midwestern, especially the surrounding countryside, feels like areas further north.
Kentucky likes to think of itself as Southern, but actually is kind of transition between North and South.

Love that you are adding archival photos in some of your videos now. Very poignant. It’s so hard to see these towns quiet when you’re there on weekends. My youth in the sixties was wonderful. Everyone was downtown, window shopping, eating, visitingall gone now. Jobs shipped overseas and Walmart wiped out our sense of community and our downtowns all over the country. Thank you for taking us along.

Hi Joe: Thank you for another great video of a part of the world I’ve never seen. You mentioned some houses built of rock in this video and previously. Actually these are referred to as stone houses. Here in the Philadelphia suburbs we have many stone houses constructed of stone from local quarries. Just thought you’d like to know. And thanks for showing the Corvette Museum! How cool!

Hi I had a 1961 Corvette. It was a good car, but it took awhile to get use to driving it cuz you just about sat over the rear wheels. I traded in my 1969 Camaro for it. Thanks for the ride along I liked the first town the Best. You and Nicky should live there. Too cold out for Cats!

Columbia Kentucky really need to remove those ugly car roads out of city central. It looks weird with that courthouse in the middle of the road. It would look so nice with pedestrian streets, parks and maybe a tram car.

If you said small town America to people here in the UK they would envisage a place like Columbia. As you said a beautiful town as rural Kentucky and Tennessee have also been. Ohio you have a hard act to follow.

You're shocked once again by the low crime rate. Are you figuring out how demographics impacts this You've read off the stats of the places you've visited so many times you should be getting it by now.

That county courthouse in that first town could use some barriers around it considering they way those vehicles were speeding around it! And that blue house was nice! It had some good curb appeal.

Enjoyed your visit to Glasgow Ky. I went University in Glasgow Scotland. A little known fact was that Jefferson Davis lived in Glasgow Scotland briefly after the end of the American Civil War.

Very solid video. I've always wanted to visit the Corvette museum in Bowling Green. Did you see the salvaged cars that were swallowed up by the massive sinkhole a few years ago

I've had bacon wrapped dates at a friend's house and they were delicious. And I definitely wouldn't let those balsamic glazed greens go to waste either!

That chapel is similar in its bee-hive brickwork design to those fabled medieval-mosques in central Asia: Sufi Persia, Samarakand and so on.

In many cases a low crime rate in an area is inversely proportional to the CCW rate. Just sayin.
