Cave diving is something I've always wanted to do, but I only have my open water certification. I've been wanting to get my advanced certification, but I haven't gotten around to it, (also I'm a little scared about doing a night dive for that cert) Do you know what certification that required?

i've lived in the Riviera Maya, Some great stuff guy I've been to everything on that list. Only things i could add are (If they are looking for super tourist site) Xplor, off the beaten path- Akumal, its known for their turtle reserve, beach town 30mins south of Playa del Carmen.

Thanks for including Playa; ) my folks have been going there yearly since '95/96 when my dad broke his arm in Ixtapa. Went there once when my son was 3 in '98. To bad you can't climb chichen itza anymore. Remember doing that at 14 (had my first Corona that trip).

I loved the Mayan Rivera when I went, I did a tourist thing called Rio Secreto where you could trudge through an underground cave that was partially submersed in water. super exciting, not too bad for non swimmers and overall worth the money

Xplore: zip-lines, amphibious vehicles, underground rafts and stalactite rivers. You have to visit this place if you like extreme. I'm totally in love with this place

Forget Playa and Cancun if you to see pristine beaches. Go to Tulum, or even further south, Mahuhal. But, please keep it as a secret.
