I was born in surrounding area, but currently living in Colorado. The video should have shed more light on the topic. Few more facts: 1. Khiva is used to be a capital city of Khorezm region, which stands for thousand fortresses. There is used to be hundreds of fortresses scattered within desert and around the Oasis. 2. It is where Aryan race originated from - the race which Europeans related themselves for centuries. 3. It is where Zoroastrianism developed. It is the oldest religion in the world that is currently active. I blame it on vodka, though keep it up vagabrothers.

Itmust have been incredible once. all those wonderful Silk Roadand caravan trade cities: Yarkand, Bokhara, Urgench, Khiva, Herat. above all, Samarkand. European travellers were awestruck and had to realise that Europe was just a dirty little backwater in comparison, with just a few cathedrals. But what's left of all that glory now. Even Samarkand's palaces and gardens and orchards are gone.

Hey there After watching your such amazing Uzbekistan series, I have planned to travel Uzbekistan this summer. By the ways I am just 14. I watched your Udaipur video and I loved it. I loved Marko's Moustache. Such a nice video loved Samarkand, Bukhara And Khiva. By the ways what's that Arabian type of music used at 0: 32 and that in the intro of Uzbekistan?

Are you talking about Khans or Uzbek turks? because Khan could only be Mongol and its also Mongolian words. Turks worked under Khan army. if one had to claim territory then they needed a khan as a leader just for the sake of it. Example - thats why Uzbek turkman Babur became leader in India after marrying a daughter of Mongolian that's why he was called gurkani.

Thank you very much Vegabrothers for the amazing vlog about Khiva, one of the amazing places on earth. I'm pretty much sure that people like you will contribute to grow the tourism there and I hope it will be visited by more than ever before. BTW, about the movie filmed there, I would give my soul to see it happening. Viva Vegabrothers.

One of your best series thus far. Wouldn't mind if you got some Soviet era things worked in even if is just the b-roll of the vodka drinking. Block housing might not be as beautiful as the ancient stuff, but that shot of the highway extending in a straight line through the desert was strong, like the other drone shots.
