Great informative video I would really like to go here and explore: ) The problem with the Aral Sea is a man made problem but I think it needs to be made more clear that its hugely a consumer problem The way we as consumers buy clothing and then toss it in landfill when we dont want it anymore (60% of clothes end up in landfill) means the production of cotton and ultimately clothing, bedding etc is very high We as consumers need to make changes to stop things like this happening. I understand its a huge part of the economy and its also probably been in family generations for thousands of years. But we cant keep destroying the planet like this: (

Awesome video, guys I'll have to make a trip out there one of these days as I LOVE visiting places least often traveled. It's sad that the Aral Sea is shrinking more and more as the countries who own parts of it aren't doing anything to conserve it. I wonder what's going to happen to Uzbekistan's cotton economy when all the water is not there? It's no wonder why more of the citizens are using tourism to replace a dying economy. Also, I wonder if the government is going to do anything about cleaning up the sea? I noticed the Dead Sea is facing similar issues as it continues to dry up and become smaller.

Wow You guys made me cry so much for our humanity. Its really sad to see that humans are destroying our planet in only less then 50 years. Our ancesters were getting ready for the demand of the crazy consumption the world wanted at that era in the 1930's and 1950's. I've been watching to many documentaries and craving to educate myself of countries I know very little. You guys showed me something that the world needs to know. If we keep consuming the way we do for basically anything our future kids won't have a future. Certain places in the world will have to be desserted cause we destroyed it has humans.

Do any of these beautiful Uzbek cities have UNESCO World Heritage status? The architecture really looks like it bowls you over, but everything else makes it look like a nation of faded glory. This video in particular was sobering, and I would think you've got to be really passionate about the environment and learning Soviet history to put yourself through this journey and make this video, because it looked excruciating. From the perspective of coming to enjoy travel, I personally would've hated this, but you guys are true gents to show so much humility and grace.

Hi guys. Thank you very much for showing this disaster having happened to uzbek people and other people living near Uzbekistan for long time. I am from Uzbekistan. I am so sorry for these people being in Aral sea who have been suffering very acute diseases ranging from some types of cancer. I believe that many people will watch this video and not ignore the urgent issue. Please people and world health organisations, help us. We need your help. Thanks a lot.

Wonderfully done and wide-ranging eco travelogue. Cinematically well done too. I'm assuming those were drone shots from above? One criticism: it would have been cool if you'd consulted with a geologist or other appropriate scientist on some of the details. I'm sure someone knows what that creepy white foam on the shoreline is from, for instance. But overall, two thumbs up Fascinating treatment of a sad story but neat part of the world.

Hi from Kazakhstan You should come visit. Yes, what happened to Aral Sea is terrible. When I was in school, I used to look at the map, and Aral Sea was big, yet smaller than before. At the time, that was strange. Then it got smaller and smaller. Now it's just painful to look at. It lies between Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan, and people here talk about ways to improve the situation, but it seems that it's too late. I hope not
