5 Days Solo Backpacking With A New Pack John: Thanks for the very kind words for us Trail Maintainers. the storm definitely followed the Pinhoti and we still have some areas to clear. Nathan and Kimm #PinhotiOutdoorCenter really are some incredible folks and their support of the Pinhoti hiking community is stellar! Great video and your blow down walk over was exciting to watch!

Oh wow that's crazy all those blowdowns! I had a similar predicament on a trail a couple of years ago with a downed blaze tree and I ended up going the wrong way on a game trail for about 30 minutes. It's where the blaze pointed me to go, but the tree was on the ground across the actual trail! I had to double back. All good fun!

I forgot to add there are places on the buckeye trail here in Ohio that I have been to where the trees are down and the trail blazes are either pointing up or pointing on the side and they were down for the nearly 25 or 30 years or more and you have to figure out which way to go because it's no longer blazed for a trail

Trail crews in the Bob Marshall Wilderness call those masses of blowdowns Pile Ups. You definitely showed plenty of patience to get through that stuff. Makes for good stories though. And I'm sure you felt it good to be out on the trail.

Young lady with all of those trees blown down like that I totally understand trying to find the trail especially when they have one on the ground and it's in totally in a different direction and you're trying to find the other one

Driving back an hour to celebrate another Birthday with Dad is worth the gas and time spent. I'm glad he made it out and hope he's doing better than expected on his road to recovery (or has recovered) Now back to watching more.

Wow never seen the Pinhoti trail that bad. That was a pretty bad storm that went through that way. I remember running thru that trail at night durning the Pinhoti 100 looking for the reflective blazes.

Awesome video and scenery of nature, and I couldn't wait for it. And weird enough woods itself and the 'situations' on the trail with maintenance and stuff same as in the middle of the Europe here

Some great footage of the footwork needed sometimes on the trail. And a great scene of focusing on humble nocturnal aquatic animals. That is what nature is all about, loving that stuff.
