Urique, Chihuahua, Mexico, a town of 1000 located at the bottom of the Copper Canyon, has as its purpose built airport, a main street running north south. The approach requires pilots fly along the east / west river valley, then head north onto the uphill runway. towards the steep walls of the Copper Canyon. Take off is a down hill process with a Rio Urique and canyon winds providing major impediments. I have been to Urique, but certainly not by air. Normal transport is via 2-3 hour steep cliffside drive on a one lane road from the railway. There was an twin engine aircraft there during our short visit, perhaps for medivac or drug surveillance purposes.

Nearly touching the tourists heads. Ummm. yeah. if the tourists were 50 (or more) feet tall, or you moved them to 80% of the way from the runway threshold and the actual touchdown point. Kinda dumb. And while pilots that land these airports are undoubtedly paying close attention, I sincerely doubt they are scared. If they are, they sure as HELL shouldn't be landing a plane full of passengers there, or at the very least should be supervised by a training pilot on the other controls who is NOT until they are comfortable/confident with the procedures. Hyperbolic sensationalism much?

Like the Saint Barts airport, Caye Caulker, Belize has one of its main streets that crosses its only runway (2841') which runs the width of the island. Though it lacks the dramatic approach of SBH, CLK is also missing control gates on the crossing, relying instead on simple stop signs and common sense. There are a couple of scheduled flights a day to this airport which does not offer much in the way of infrastructure.

6: 41 if your wheels haven't touched the runway by 6: 44 about 1/3 of the runway, then you have no hope. Surely you apply full power and do a missed approach. you don't continue the landing. That was pure madness his approach speed was to fast he misjudged the approach and clearly hadn't a clue what to do. The pilot was reckless. I Hope the injuries weren't too serious.

Most dangerous airfield ever? Try an aircraft carrier, at night, on rough seas with heavy rain further limiting visibility. To put that in perspective, imagine driving your car at 60mph without headlights and trying to come to a stop perfectly within a standard parking space. While blindfolded and someone radios the directions to you.

When the plane landed in Paro, I wasn't scared because it was cloudy. There was a lot of twisting around though. Leaving was another story. It was clear and I saw how high the mountains and narrow the valley. .The most interesting part was that Bhutan didn't store jet fuel, so we had to fly to Bangladesh to top off.

The pilot at 7: 00 missed the runway touchdown zone and that's why he skidded off the runway at the very end. The runway touchdown zone is designed so that pilots could land in a certain place in the beginning of the runway so that they have enough space to stop.

I once landed on #3 in a Cessna 210 after I had only accumulated around 50 hours My original flight instructor was with me when I did it, constantly feeding me corrections to my technique. I did NOT wind up in the water Ah, thems was the days

IFast forward to 02/18/2020. I thought the most dangerous airports for landing and take off were in the U. S. such as New York, Los Angeles CA, Hawaii, and Europe at Gatwick in London. I've had a few scary encounters at these airports.
