Between the two sister trucks, the offroad version goes to the silverado custom trail boss. Neither the AT4 or the LT trail boss are worth it imo, too expensive for vehicles with the intent of offroading. There are only 2 sierra trims worth even looking at, otherwise you get a better deal with the silverado counterparts. The denali and the sle, and the sle is only worth it over a silverado LT if you just like the looks of the sierra over the silverado, as function and accessory wise they are identical at those trims (same tailgate same layouts same engine options ect) But either way the gm engineers missed the whole point of luxury trucks. People buying longhorns and limited rams arent using them for hauling construction supplies or yard supplies. People buying those trims are hauling families, travel trailers and/or horse trailers. Durability is also not a concern because the target buyers will be treating it like a luxury vehicle, not a workhorse. So while that excuse works in the mid tier trims where trucks will still be regularly used for work, just being more comfortable and convenient while doing so, will not work in the luxury division.

Ram air suspension is garbage. A few people in Western Canada are seeing them fail because of the cold and ice/snow buildup on the compressor due to a very poor shielding design. My dad has had it go bad on it 7 times in 2 years and each time it had to get towed to the dealership. This last time is the final straw though and that truck is going out the door. I mentioned that it would be cheaper to replace the suspension as RAM offers that (I think due to complaints but at your cost) but he is so mad he doesnt want to even drive it anymore. My Dad loved that truck. And now he is thinking of buying a GMC like mine. wow my Dad used to bleed Dodge. He has owned like 4 or 5 dodge vehicles over the past 10 years. A van/suv and a truck. he must be really pissed and I dont blame him. He uses that truck for fishing in northern Manitoba and to tow a camper to go 5000 miles to see my brother in Whitehorse every summer and he needs it to be reliable. Thats a tough drive once you get to northern Alberta and up.

Brother in law has a 2018 1500 gmc Denali pick up with all Bells and whistles and makes fun of my 2014 Tundra and yes my pick up is gas drinker and yes the trim is not compare to the GMC and its not a fast sprinter but within the year he had to replace one side of the sliding side steps his, back up camera l, and the transmission, oooo and he also has a 2017 Denali SUV that too had to have the transmission replaced, he also dont tow anything he pays someone else to tow things around. no Thanks Ill keep My Tundra and if I had more cash i would buy a 2019 silverado with the z71 package, and save big bucks. at the end with my Tundra I would have reliable pickup with a higher resale value. The only major think I had to replace to this day, was the alternator.

No one, and I mean NO ONE who buys the AT4 expects it to be a Raptor analog from GM. It is only for preference on how it looks. And it looks great. I get really tired of all the fan-boys trying to shout down the products that arent from their particular favorite. Shut up already. The truth of the current crop of trucks on the market today is that they ALL have something to offer. They are ALL pretty damn good. I just bought a new truck. In the process, I drove Ford, GMC, Nissan, Chevy and Toyota. Simply put, they are all really impressive. In the end, the buyer needs to determine what is most important to meet their needs and buy the appropriate truck. I honestly dont think you can go wrong.

Since the new body style was introduced, I have been watching these reviews and you are the first person who has mentioned the tail gate hitting the hitch if lowered. Major engineering design flaw. I thought, well maybe they have a switch in the receiver that would prevent the gate from folding the second tier if you have a hitch connected. Guess not. Very thorough review sir

Alex, since GMC and Ford have codeveloped the new 10 spd autotransmission, why is GMC not having the same problems as Ford is having w their ten spd on F150s. Lots of problems with owners on forums, you tube reviews and by independent mechanics. I have not heard much negative comments or reviews on GMs version as opposed to Ford and the problems Ford is having.

Honestly at this point I would just get a 4x4 or a Z71 and just do the mods after the warranty goes out. It isnt worth spending all that extra cash for the mods they give you. The rear locker is nice, but at 60k that is only 10k away from a raptor and the same price as a power wagon. GM really doesnt have an all out offroad truck like Ford and Dodge.

Just factory ordered mine a few days ago here in Calgary, Alberta. I can hardly wait for it (mid July is my guess. All optioned out with everything from GM but the kitchen sink and with Toyos, fender flares, Bluetooth kicker audio in the tailgate, full front end 3M, and Gatorback mud flaps, I actually hit 89, 000 CDN before trade and rebates.
