Dennis Dowd: Well, I am sure glad I havent bought my new Corolla yet. This one looks like a winner. I hope they kept the wishbone back suspension. I will be excited to see how this drives and handles. God know the Corolla line has surely needed something. I like the styling, but what really turns me on is the bigger engine, the completely safety package. The new CVT is that starting gear seem to have real promise in making the CVT a much better transmission, and also increase its reliability by taking all that stress off the belt on start up. Very clever design, if it works. The only issue I might have is buying a new design vehicle the first year. But if you are saying this design has been out and running in Europe, then maybe that might not be a factor. Now all I have to do is rob a bank. Living in Northern California has become extremely expensive experience, which I havent enjoyed. Thanks for the video, looking for your excellent review in a couple of months.

Love it I just picked up a 17 Corolla w/ CVT (no launch. Cant wait to get this semi hot hatch when my daughter gets my Corolla. Ive been driving stick since my 74 Corolla SR5. Ive always had a stick. Now, in my 50s Im debating if I should go for the CVT w/ launch of stick with stick or even go slower w/ the Fit Sport in stick? Choice is good, I guess.

Ive always loved the IM, I think the naming was weird. Other competitors (ford, Chevy, Honda) just called their compact based hatch the same name, but whatever. Seems like the hatch is the sporty version of the corolla in general. Itll be interesting to see the new corolla should be coming in 2020.

Im glad that Toyota is updating the hatchback version of the Corolla. Ill be looking to buy my first new car within the next couple of years, and Ill definitely be considering one of these. I wasnt a huge fan of the iM just being a Scion with a Toyota badge.

Im a Honda fan but this looks so awesome. would sell my old civic for this but if the numbers arent there for horsepower then I might not. Not asking for a hot hatch but at least make this hatch compete with other hatches this year. Awesome design though I love it

Interior is boring looking and not driver focused? Why make an aggressive exterior with hybrid interior design? Looks basic and out of place in this car Toyota please redesign the dashboard

Just by looking, seem that she cant match the cargo capacities of the old taller Matrix. Also tired to see all those short rear overhang hatchback. It decreases the capacities of cargo.

It will be a best seller with the Corolla name and Toyota brand on it. I can see it being popular with the younger generation while the Sedan will probably appeal to everyone else.

Wow great car. I love seeing more hatches out there. It looks like that fuel injector is placed in a good spot to help with carbon buildup. First ive seen of this.

Its kinda strange not seeing Alex introducing a video outdoors, esp. in the forest, but this is certainly a welcomed change of pace. Next stop, the Geneva or Paris Auto Show
