This Mini is ridiculously heavy It will be interesting to see how long that 2. 0 Turbo lasts. No lumbar support? Thats a big deal. Cabin storage is a joke. Alex, I generally respect your views, however it seemed you were going out of your way to find a lot of good in this very average car. Had this been any other car I believe your review would have been much more critical. Lastly, Mini as a brand 1) has horrendous reliability 2) Minis crash tests havent been stellar.

Hi Alex, great review as always I have a question for you. It looks like you got a 0-60 time of 5. 9 seconds but miniusa. com lists the 0-60 time at about a full second slower. How were you able to propel the car so much faster? Did you play around the drive settings/traction control? Ive noticed some other auto reviewers showing conflicting times as well. PLEASE HELP

I think they built this model _just_ for European city exhaust regulations (and, yes, maybe also for CA carpool lane buyers) where the driver benefits from an EV-only mode for in-city transit. At 4000lbs, it is clear they just slapped a battery and hybrid drivetrain into a car that was already overweight and with little real engineering.

I would think the Audi A3 Sportback e-tron would be a more direct comparison to this vehicle than the Kia Nero PHEV. Both are premium level PHEV hatchbacks oriented towards performance. I dont think Alex has compared the A3 e-tron to many other vehicles since his A3 review originally came out three years ago.

Theres nothing country about such low ground clearance which crosses the S E Countryman off my list. Im counting the hours until the all new Subaru Forester debuts at the New York Auto Show press day tomorrow. Will you be there, Alex? I hope you can get your hands on the SF soon as well as the new Crosstrek.

Even after watching this video, Im still pretty skeptical about the handling of a subcompact that weighs literally 1, 000 pounds more than a Honda Civic, which is now bigger than the Accord used to be.

Having just ordered one I can tell you that you can choose 4WD by selecting the mid e drive, sport mode & manual, turn the traction control off & this gives you 4WD for as long as the battery has charge.

Hate everything about this thing. Heavy and huge. Exactly what a Mini shouldnt be. It also marks the first Mini trim not available with a manual transmission. Another first sadly

Another one of your great reviews. I have never been a fan of MINIs, but this one might make more sense than anyone that I have seen for my taste. Thanks.

You should review the Kona Ultimate Its the fastest, and also most engaging subcompact crossover that isnt labeled as luxury to drive. Plus, its cute.
