Subaru's 2024 New Impreza Sports Bigger Screens And Hatchback Only Styling

Subaru's Impreza has returned for 2024 but it's lost the sedan body and the manual transmission. If you didn't know it already, this is basically the less-offroady Crosstrek with the two Subies sharing bodies and doors with one another. The Crosstrek is the pragmatic option with the suspension lift and body cladding and the Impreza is the road-focused AWD model. aerob1033: Disappointed that Subaru isn't going harder into hybrids; with the price and availability of hybrids so accessible these days, it's causing Subaru to fall behind in fuel economy, which is a shame since that used to always be one of their main calling cards. Was really hoping to see a hybrid version of the Impreza this generation.

I see a few Impreza hatches in my neighborhood and really like their classic wagon-like proportions/styling. Having spent a fair amount of time in a Crosstrek however, the cargo capacity is just a little tight for my family. But with a manual, and available short-shifter and strut tower bracing on the previous generation, I used to think, maybe I should make this size car work? Could be fun to drive despite modest power? Now with no manual, not as interested. Also agree with you on the Mazda3 hatch styling and black wheels. Not a huge fan of either.

So Alex I'm sitting here going over the moon right now because I have a 2015 Subaru Subaru Impreza and I absolutely love it I just got the brakes done it's been such a solid vehicle I mean you can take a corner at 60 miles an hour and I think it grips so good around corners I mean it's such a solid car it is such a solid car I can't say anything bad about it maybe I need more space but I mean it does everything so well and then when it snows it cuts through the snow like it's not even there

I will say they should have kept the Impreza sedan as well not everybody wants to WRX and I know they didn't sell that many of the Impreza sedans and what have you it was always basically the hatchback but sometimes you want some people might want the sedan you know I did basically the same car just different sheet metal I don't think it would have caused Subaru that much money to keep selling the sedan

I was hoping the base model didn't come with the dual infotainment screen like the Outback but seems that is the case. Which means the Crosstrek base model will likely be the same.
Any signs the NA version fo the 2024 Crosstrek is there or just the Impreza (which to be frank, likely won't be much different.

So nobody is going to mention how this impreza has less unpainted plastic than the supposedly more upscale wrx? LoL
Subaru is like that kid in school who had zero talent but his friends kept hyping him.
Soccer moms and yuppies keep buying these dumb crosstreks. The subaru big wigs are so out of touch man.

I don't like the C-shaped rear lights, it's a fussy detail that doesn't match the rest of the body. Plus, on the Impreza/Crosstrek the portion of the lights on the tailgate doesn't actually illuminate, it's just a non-functional design detail.

Subaru should make a WRX that looks like this and discontinue the sedan. This looks much better than the WRX. Also, I don't get why Subaru didn't just put an 8 speed automatic in this considering they tuned the CVT to imitate a torque converter?

When was the last time you pushed yourself beyond what you do normally?
Today is that day to step it up.

Don't know why Subaru gets it backwards. Hatchback for the base car instead of the performance model and sedan for the performance car instead of the base car. I loved my years gone Subie WRX hatchback.

I like the current Impreza. It's a very good design
Subaru just didn't do anything else to make you want to buy it
It has AWD, and looks pretty good, and that's that.

Front and side look great. Rear looks terrible. Inside is okay. The center section around the touchscreen looks 12 years old. Also RS with a CVT and no turbo? No thanks.

Front looks ford ish or Toyota Highlander ish. The back is Honda Accord hatchback?
Same taillights, come on.
A solid New Balance pair of sneakers.
Not for me.

I'm just happy they didn't get rid of the hatch! Lament the loss of the manual though. RIP. Excited about this new Impreza. Thanks for another great review Alex!

I have always said the same thing. I do not like the looks of the Mazda 3 Hatch. I think this looks nicer. - to each there own as you said -
