Looking for the ultimate off-roader? Look no further than the original Military Mercedes: the G550. After 40 years of sticking to the original design commissioned for troop transport, Mercedes finally decided to give their most-capable SUV it's second redesign. Yep, this is the first all-new G-Wagon in 40 years. Don't worry however, it's still big, boxy and bad-ass. Oh, and it still uses the original door handles in case you're wondering

Even if money was no object I'd still take neither if I was forced to pick a vehicle designed with pavement as a secondary it would be a power wagon. I think a lot of the luxury vehicles at this point are just expensive to be expensive with features their target audience dont even know exist.

The one thing that this G-wagen always delivers is the douchebaggery quotient. No matter whos driving it, you can be sure theyre a complete asshole. The only G-wagen thats bought for off-roading is the 2-door TD and those are not sold in North America.

I know it's the more boring choice (and not really in the same stratospheric class, but I'd choose a Land Cruiser instead of either the Range Rover (unreliable) or the G-Wagen (a little too flashy.

I used to sell Mercedes and the only people that bought these were Chinese husbands who wanted something for their wife to show off. And the wife was never allowed to speak.

No ones going to be spending that kind of money and go off roads with this, which is sad. They will be getting bought by snobby rich women that dont know how to drive.

This vehicle would make for a great long term off-roading, grocery getting vehicle. I hope they eventually offer a brush guard delete.

Looking for the perfect executive transport to view your private military invading the countryside? There's a G-Wagon for that.
