Seriously, Mazda is the first Japanese company to build an honest-to-goodness RWD 3-row that's a value alternative to a BMW X7? Say what? Yep, the new CX-90 will feature a new RWD platform, new 8-speed transmission, and a 3. 3L turbo inline 6 engine. The interior is solid Mazda with a scandinavian twist and the most poremium materials Mazda has ever sourced. We don't have legroom specs yet but the 3rd row looks to be bigger than an X5, but smaller than a Kia Telluride. Pricing is also unknown but you can bet the top trims will be much higher than the Highlander and Pilot.

Seriously Lexus & Acura, why is it that Mazda is the one taking the fight to the Germans? Keep in mind I have not driven it yet, so it may be a heavy boat, but the specs at least indicate a pretty strong contender in this segment. The Durango is fun but old. The Explorer is fun but has an unrefined interior and V6 is expensive. If Mazda can price the CX-90 right they could easily be the performance model to beat. Expect a near perfect 50/50 weight balance and this AWD system will always have a strong rear power bias and with some software tweaks could even be 100% RWD.

Are they fade off turn signals or are they the pulsating turn signals like other new Mazdas? The new pulsating turn signals are extremely unsafe in brigh lighting conditions and heavy rain and fog. First I thought Mazda drivers forgotten how to drive but I realized it's only thelast few model years with the pulsating signals are extremely hard to see unless weather is perfect.

Thanks, Alex for the great review and unveiling video. I love the new red color and overall design. My only criticism is that the sides are a little too plain or slab/flat for me and I hope we get more interior color/leather choices than black or off-white. BTW, still looking forward to a full review of the CX-50. Thanks, again.

That interior looks great, way better than I was expecting, but Mazda's infotainment is hot garbage. Wife owns a cx5, thats one of my few complaints. Pricing will be interesting vs Hyundai Palisade, and I'd hope they offer a bench in top trim. I might pay a premium for a plug-in hybrid.

What's going on with Mazda styling? The six-year-old CX-9 has a more elegant looking exterior even with FWD proportions. Older Mazdas of the Kodo design era also have better integrated DRLs.
Interior does look gorgeous though.

It looks kinda like a Nautilus SUV which is not a good thing considering anything Ford related is blah. I hope they price it well and are able to sell enough to subsidize other cars I care about like the 3 and Miata.

I thought maybe it was because it was overcast, but that doesn t look like soul red crystal. Do you remember the name? 11: 44
