Acura being Honda plus is not entirely correct. The more expensive acuras use bespoke platforms with unique suspensions and drivetrains not found in lesser Hondas. No mainstream Honda civic or accord or pilot has a double wishbone front suspension or a turbo v6. Sure the integra uses a civic platform but it s an inexpensive car so that s totally fine. As you get more expensive vehicles, then sharing mainstream economy car platforms becomes a big problem.
If you want affordable luxury, mainstream cars in top end trims do well. Not to mention that you can always service a mainstream car at a luxury dealership. Yes you pay more but you get a nicer experience and you still pay less in the grand scheme of things than getting a luxury car on a mainstream platform at the same dealer
