I drove one today and was very impressed. set the cruise to 75mph and got 36mpg+, 2. 0T was punchy, honestly was shocked how much I liked it.
As for pricing, good luck finding a crosstrek at MSRP - and even if you can, that'll likely be the best deal you get. Compass's typically have thousands in rebates and/or crazy financing offers, as well as dealers willing to get rid of them, so ultimately I think the delta between the compass and crosstrek will be much smaller in the real world. For my money it would be a no brainer, but I also would never spend 46k on one.

I get it. if you want a Jeep you want a Jeep. But do they realize that for 46, 000 you can get an Acura RDX with Tech trim? More power, more cargo space, still 8. 2 ground clearance, and I d bet that SH-AWD would do fairly well. Or get a fully loaded Tucson Hybrid for 40k which probably also has much more interior/cargo space and a big jump in efficiency. You could probably even get a decent 4Runner for 46k.
This Jeep just seems priced into a very narrow target market

Test drove a 2023 Jeep Compass Sport a few weeks ago. The ride isn't very good, the turbo engine isn't very powerful, the IP looks dated compared to other modern cars, and nitpicking here, the turn signals sound awful. Both Jeep and the Dealer were offering discounts on the vehicle but I was not impressed and passed on the Compass.

Negotiate the price nobody's paying that for these. Ask for rebates I didn't even pay full price for my 2 door wrangler a year ago. The prices on these cars has gotten this way because people just go in and bend over and accept whatever. But I'm more interested in how Hyundai is supplying Stellantis with the 8 speed.

Just a quick check locally, our Jeep dealer has about a dozen of these on the lot and the top-of-the-line High Altitude with Nav with an MSRP of 44. 2k has nearly 3k in instant discounts and another 2k in other discounts available. And according the Jeep's website, High Altitude is top model, not Trailhawk.

The 8spd is actually an Aisin unit. Smart move because it offers better shifting than the ZF9 but reliability that is on par with the ZF8.
And yes, 46K is crazy, especially considering you can get a JGC Limited 4x4 for that price. But these will be heavily discounted.

Jeep has decided that their vehicles are luxury cars and have bumped up the prices. Good Luck. I've owned 2 Jeeps (Cherokee and Grand Cherokee) and now a Toyota RAV4 Hybrid. It's a no brainer for me. I'd take the RAV4 Hybrid any day.

The MSRP is way overpriced. To be fair to Jeep, you're likely to get a significant discount on these, while Honda, Hyundai, and Toyota dealers will gouge you on anything desirable on the lot.

As long as there are people who will pay ridiculous prices the prices will continue to be high. Stop paying those insane prices and the manufacturer and dealers will start offering discounts.

The leather seats look like vinyl. Super cheap. I rather them use something like Toyota s softex. it looks more like leather than the actual leather in this thing. The dash is nice tho.

Looks better than the pre-refresh but the pricing is too high IMO, especially for the subcompact segment, a base Compass is now almost the same price as a top-trim Crosstrek Limited.

46K ouch! That's RDX territory, which is more capable on road with SH-AWD. Way more luxurious, and reliable. What is Jeep/Stelantis smoking nowadays to ask for this obnoxious amount.

The Bronco Sport with its 2. 0 liter turbo, tops out around the same price. Is it Jeep s history of reliability issues why it can t be 46, 000, but the Bronco Sport can be?
