While we wait for final pricing and legroom details, let's take a deeper dive into the Grand Highlander's seating arrangement. With seating for 7 or 8 people 3 sets of LATCH anchors, wide doors in the rear and class leading 3rd row comfort, the Grand Highlander look like it has it all, but just how well do adults fit in tha back? Let's find out.

This is the reason I get frustrated at Honda, for so long Hondas pilot was the nicer sportier and decently fuel efficient competitor to the highlander with the V6
Well why Honda has essentially kept the same V6 for the past 2 decades Toyota is hybridizing the line up giving people both performance and practicality. Meanwhile Honda is playing with old tech and direct motor drive hybrid system

Hi Alex! This is one of the best and most thorough reviews of the Grand Highlander, especially the 3rd row. I ll never sit back there but I always care about my family s and passenger comfort. I can t wait to see this in person and looking forward to your May 30th review. This is definitely on my future purchase list from everything I ve seen so far. Thank you!

I heard few time the word Honda Pilot and I bet the biggest reason to buy Toyota Highlander was reliability over the Honda Pilot. But now with EPA friendly 2. 4T iForceMax I wonder if that would change. We Toyota still kept the 3. 5V6 with dual injection, timing chain and that 8 speed automatic. Atleast for me I'll pass.

If I m not mistaken, the Korean twins are the roomiest in this segment so I m not sure why the sole competitive focus was the Pilot. I know it s just a quick first impression look but if you re going to be singling out the best current option to compare legroom with I d suggest it s not the Pilot.

A lot of the third row crossovers are workable, if one can strategically place all three rows accordingly. I have a new GLB, and it s greatest party trick is that third row, it is quite usable despite the CSUVs small size. No one believes it, before I show them the interior

I feel like if you re a big family looking for a vehicle you d be much happier with the Sienna, much more room for people and cargo plus sliding doors so you don t have to worry about the kids hitting the car parked beside you!

These things are going to sell like loaves of bread. Toyota is learning how to package vehicles like cross-country rival Honda does. It may end up being the best 3row VALUE in the class(not the best overall tho.

Alex mentions the Pilot quite a bit. That diminishes the regular HIghlander s space in the segment, doesn t it? If the midsized segment is growing in size, this may end up being the regular Highlander one day.

aaaaaand our sienna will have more 3rd row space AND have have more trunk space
cheaper and better ingress and egress as well
cope and seethe crossover fans, oh and sliding doors are better

Toyota builds THE best family vehicle for 20 years (Sienna 2003-2023. Americans - 'meh'. Hyundai butches up their mystery machine; Americans- 'take my money'. Toyota - rolls eyes - 'Grand Hylander'

I was waiting for this but will probably go for Grand Cherokee L. I dont know but interior seems to bland and boring. And more importantly any hybrid Toyota is year out on deliveries in Canada

The fact they have yet to reveal pricing tells me it'll be not great. I like this and like the way it looks, but I wouldn't pay appreciably more for it than a Palisade similarly equipped.
reply

Wait till will we see the price if the normal Highlander is like the same price as the Honda Pilot then how much more is this going to be, and for what a little more room
reply

Instead of eating right and exercising, Americans instead chose to go bigger and bigger and pay more for the problems associated with being bigger.
