The Genesis Coupe Is Back! (As an SUV this time) 2025 Genesis GV80 and GV80 Coupe First Look

Genesis brought the refreshed GV80 and new GV80 Coupe to the LA Auto Show! The big deal (for me at least) is the redesigned interior which has ditched the 3D LCD cluster and separate floating display for a single curved OLED display and new software. I haven't had a chance to test the new software myself yet, but hopefully I will in January. The rest of the dash has been restyled to work with the new LCD and to bring us more premium finishes and more wood. The climate controls have been simplified and there's a new storage area and new shifter along for the ride. The new GV80 Coupe is (logically) based on the GV80 and trades cargo room for a sleeker profile. The back seats are essentially the same but they offer power adjustment in top trims and now the front passenger seat has the same range of motion as the driver including adjustable bolsters, thigh cushion extensions and massage. Under the hood the GV80 gets the same engines we've seen for a while. The base model gets a 2. 5L 300HP turbo engine and there's an optional 375 HP 3. 5L twin-tubo V6. Opt for the GV80 Coupe and you gan get a bit more power thanks to the addition of an e-Supercharger that bumps things up to 409 HP. The GV800 in that trim will also get a sportier sterring wheel to match. With the refreshed parts the GV80 continued to target vehicles like the GLE 350, X5 rather than the Lexus RX. That's clear in the level of attention to detail, parts quality and the RWD nature of the SUVs vs the more mainstream feel we get in the current Lexus lineup. Title is a fail
The Hyundai Genesis Coupe has nothing to do with the Genesis GV80 Coupe. nice try though
That long screen is actually what was seen in the original GV80 concept from 2017
Also RIP to the Alex on Autos moniker

I really like the coupe, gorgeous and right up there with the Germans in terms of style.
I almost wish they would have stuck with the 2 separate screen design, everyone has been moving over to that so heavily that it almost just makes the dash look just like everyone else. If you're this late in the trend then you may as well just stick with it. Hell Mercedes has been doing it for so long that they're actually switching back to multiple screens lol.

Im getting tired of car dashes turning into Apple display stores. Literally sitting infront of a table with a plane tablet infront of you. I don't mind digital displays but at least put it inside of a unique gauge cluster cover. Something that exudes performance, speed, and grand touring. Not barnes and noble.

Rest in peace Infiniti and especially lexus
Genesis is the future. I can t wait for the day where those two brands go out of business since they can t afford to compete anymore.
Anyone who says genesis is still a junk Hyundai deserves to be laughed at because you just can t say this is junk.

The GV80 coupe is one of the few coupe SUV versions I like. and yes, this colour and more black less chrome grill match the style. I like it. I just doubt we will ever see it in the UK as GV70 is already 'big'; )

1- That's not The Genesis Coupe.
2- That's not a Coupe, that's a SUV with curved hatch.
3- stop calling SUV coupe
4- Genesis need to bring back the real Genny Coupe.

Why does every manufacturer is doing the double screen thing? Merc did it first and as soon as they depart from the design (albeit flat not curved, everyone's doing it.

The trend of OLED screens in cars is definitely one that worries me and is one more way of reducing longevity unless OLED life expectancy has vastly improved.

Obviously one man's opinion but to me the business end of the interior is a serious downgrade from the current one. Bleh.
