This may just be the way to go. Thank you for the review, Alex. What confuses the frick out of me when it comes to ev city/highway ratings is MPGe numbers. So they tell us this is 91 MPGe combined. But how do I deduce the approximate range from that number? How many MPGe does this models battery hold? If the range is 236 miles and the combined range number is 91, I get 2, 593 gallons of electricity capacity. Am I doing the math correctly on this? Is that calculation the same for all evs? Just can't seem to wrap my head around these numbers.

Really considering this vehicle for my wife since we own another Genesis, but there are a couple factors steering us away. The GV60 feels more spacious on the inside because of the lack of center tunnel, as mentioned in the review; it really hurts the airiness of the cabin. Second is that fully specced 3. 5L V6 used versions currently can be had for 45k, which not only is a huge price delta but also bodes badly for the EV depreciation and pricing wars.

I keep watching GV70 videos to figure out why everyone is recommending the GV70 over the GV60, and I still don't get that from this video. Some people don't like the styling of the GV60, which is fair, but the interior of the GV60 is bigger even though the car is smaller, and the GV70 is missing the coolest features of the GV60, especially the drawer compartment, which I think should replace the glove box on every vehicle moving forward.

If I was in the market for a compact EV SUV this would be it. I want three rows in case I need it so I'm still waiting. I'm glad that they're offering more colors this year but they need to give us that blue interior from the ICE GV70. It would be nice if they made a sporty version as well. It's a tough choice between this or the ICE GV70 3. 5T tho. They're both around the same price but the ICE version looks so nice inside and out.

It is a great pick, though I still think the battery is still compromised by its shared platform design. The Audi Q4 e-tron has a 82 kWh battery in much of the same size, and the Mustang Mach-E has a far bigger 91 kWh. The king is the Caddy Lyriq with 102 kWh pack.
Also, Genesis in Canada only sells the eGV70 in one trim, loaded to the gills. It also means it costs an eye watering 84k CAD sticker price. Ouch.

Alex, I find my tastes very similar to yours, (even owned a Jaguar XJR. I know they are different segments, but the price is close enough for me. This or a Tesla Model S LR?
I'm a super-commuter (200+ total miles per day) with access to charging at work. I value quiteness, controled suspension isolation and modern UI. I currently drive a Model Y and loath its crashy suspension and lack of isolation.

Genesis and EV are a match made in heaven. Arguably, the powertrain has been the weakest part of Genesis vehicles. Since Hyundai-Kia s EV technologies are quite competitive in the current market, EV Genesis makes the brand really compelling option versus other luxury EVs imo. The only thing missing right now is the higher end models with dedicated EV platform for better overall packaging and range.

The Gv70 is my favorite electric vehicle right now for most of the points you made. It looks normal! Buttons and switches are where you expect them to be. For me the climate control is fine as a mix of buttons and screen. The tunnel hump is fine also it keeps the car feeling normal. I can't stress that enough lol. I believe there is a market for regular looking cars that happen to be electric.

Imo if Genesis is adopting Tesla station ability several of the just get a Y reasons fall off.
It s definitely a much more attractive and well appointed vehicle compared to a Y. Material usage between the two is no comparison. Vinyl seats vs Napa Leather etc etc etc

I should have gotten the GV70 electric but I m still happy with my GV60. The extra room on the 70 would be appreciated for day trips with a double stroller in the boot. It s my daily work car so it does the job I bought it for wonderfully!

It just occurred to me that the location of the charge port means even a minor accident could potentially render the port unusable leaving you unable to charge, thus totally disabling the car. That is not a great situation.

Can you use the 'boost'-button in Eco-Mode as a shortcut to full power for overtaking? It would suit me to save energy and trundle along in Eco and just press the button to overtake like Meat Loaf.

For the 17, 000 premium over a base 2. 5L GV70, how much more do you get other than the performance upgrade? And whats the EPA range of the base GV70 (w 91/93 octane minimum I presume?

Alex, you should also mention their lack of dedicated dealerships and poor service reputation. Great car but not worth it if appointments are 3 months out for simple diagnostics

This ticks a lot of boxes but I knew the price would be a knockout punch. Waiting to see what the Equinox EV (and hopefully some Honda/Acura versions of it) look like.

Genesis need to add RWD to all of their EVs besides the GV60. Not everyone is interested in AWD with gobs of power, but maximizing range and lower price tag.

This has been the best small luxury crossover since release. Just more and more good reviews even with the electric version. Genesis is absolutely killing it.

This is not only the best EV currently available, it may very well be the best car currently available. I absolutely love my dark gray Electrified GV70.

Really curious if Genesis has a GV90 Electric coming sometime soon. With how impressive the GV80 is I can only imagine how insane that model could be
