The Ferrari 12Cilindri spider has arrived and it's as spectacular as the coupe. Perhaps more so, given it gives more opportunity to hear its engine. And what an engine this 6. 5-litre naturally aspirated V12 is, making 819bhp at 9250rpm and revving out at 9500. That makes the 12Cilindri Spider capable of 0-62mph in 3. 0sec and gives it a top speed of 211mph. But it is its engagement and fun at road speeds that is also remarkable. Not that it matters, because I certainly can't afford to buy one, but Ferrari have become somewhat gaudy since the departure of Luca Montezemolo. Touch controls, rather than physical dials/switches, ugly designs that look like they were designed to appeal to 12 year olds. Overall, they are cars that only gilded peasants in America and Dubai will love.
Unlike cars like the 458, F12 and La Ferrari - history is not going to look back fondly on the current Ferrari range.
In terms of desirability, despite having been the class leaders for decades, they have been overtaken by Lamborghini, Porsche and Aston Martin.

Ferrari has been my favourite brand since I developed a love of anything on four wheels at the age 3, in the early 90s, and there has barely been an occasion where I’ve disliked a model since then.
Some of these newer models really are lacking in style. I know there are people out there who like the 12C and I’m pleased some people do. For me, it’s just a bad looking car. Regardless of the black bar on the nose, it just looks out of proportion.
Such a step back in beauty in comparison to the 812/F12 etc.
I think the F80 will ultimately grow on me but the 12 Cilindri is a lost cause, design wise.

I get that people are not keen on the looks, but, I actually like the looks slightly retro future. But, what i don't get, is the lack of dials and buttons, when paying so much, to remove tactile machined buttons and knobs is a big mistake, the interior will not age well or be desired, anyone can fit screens and digital imagery. It is such a shame manufactures ignore the want for easy to reach buttons and simple functions esp. in fast cars where you need your eye on the road not on a huge tablet with subsections. Come on manufacturers up your game, or lower the price.

I am the only one experiencing choppiness with a constant interval on Autocars videos During panning shots or when the frame is still but the car in motion it's horrible really. Smooth, choppy, smooth, choppy. Like the car freezes from time to time. Thought it was my player at first but happens on my TV, phone and computer.

If you’d paid a minimum of 350k you would be mighty disappointed with that interior. I guess that for many exceptionally wealthy people it will be about what people see from the outside. However, for some that spend time in their cars the interior has to be spot on. And that’s exactly where the new Astons have smashed it.

What a disappointment this car is in terms of how tame it is. Prior V12’s in F12 and 812 were so much more characterful and intense. Assumed a 9500RPM steaming version from the 812 Competizione. Otherwise I think it’s a unique design and great car

Compared to the Superfast, and even the 599, this car seems a real step backwards in excitement and theatre. Not great inside, digital dials and screens should have no place in a Ferrari, imo. Leave that to Hyundai etc

As constructive criticism, I think Autocar needs to find and encourage new, younger talent that can extract the emotive aspects of such performance cars. This review in terms of its 'vibe' was not matching the car.

People just don't give a sh! t about Man-Made Global Warming. Or about just throwing their money over people like Putin and the Saudi D! c tat or. Jamal Khashoggi anyone

4: 57 So I guess we wanted to know how well those expensive leather and electronic interior bits would hold up in the rain

A company that doesn't get much wrong at the moment. I guess the F80, SF90, SF90XX, 296, have been well received then!
reply

Omg it’s the ugliest Ferrari I’ve ever seen! And then the color only makes it worse!
