That said, our aerospace industry is still far superior to the Germans'. Rolls Royce make some of the best jet engines on the planet.

Why should anyone care if it's faster or slower than a porsche? I don't understand, you get this car because it's got a real engine (V12, it's manual gearbox, it's looks, it's interior, it's got a proper heritage, with the engine mounted in the front, it feels heavy and powerful, not sporty sports, like a F458 or a MP4-12C, or a Porsche.

Actually, nobody buys any decent car for drag-racing. The only people here talking about that are Need for Speed fanboys and scumbags in budget rally cars.
If your IQ is 30 of higher, you can suss that getting a car to go really fast in a straight line isn't particularly important 99. 9% of the time.

The problem with Porsche is it has no luxury. It's meant to drive well until the back wheels go out then your nose goes crazy. Aaron's aren't built to be a sole purpose sports car, they are a GT Car, and probably the best at making the GT cars as well.

I don't care that the Aston Martin is a little slower than the Porsche. The Aston looks better, sounds better, and it's a heck of a lot classier than the Porsche. I would never buy the Porsche over the Aston.

That drag race was close enough for it not to make any difference in real world on the road driving conditions! I love the Porsche but in this instance I might just take the Aston: -)

That's what I thought but it didn't say that in the lap time! Common sense would tell you that the V12 in a lighter car would go better but according to the board it was 1: 26. 8!

Check out this: evo 9 vs Aston Martin v12 vantage, the vantage keeps up pretty well considering the evo was a race car with 600hp slick tyres and all and the vantage is fully stock!

these people doing the video really don't know what they are doing or saying (no offense to autocar. The aston and the porsche are basically two cars from different planets.

Few if any can better Porsche's engineering, whether in road or race cars. Aston Martin has it's appeal but in terms of performance it's not even close.
