Riight. The Mk2 feels much more new than the Cossie. Really?
The Cossie is bad but the Mk1 is perfect? Not what 5th Gear said with Vicky driving. The boring result of the Cossie being 1, 5s faster than the Mk1 must be a proof of it's bad driving too I guess. not!
I agree that everyone has an opinion, but if one wants to be a motorong journalist and is alone in such idiotic statements, then it's time to find another job I'd say.

He was complaining about the cossie yet the Cossie smoked both Focuses off the line in that drag race. It wasn't until 120mph that the mk 2 overtook it. In a typical street race no one's doing 120 lol so in a real world situations the cossie is actually faster. (but id still choose the mk 2 focus)

I have driven all three, and i agree completely. The Cosworth felt baggy and sloppy, the gearbox felt like it was from an old van and you could feel the body flex through the bends. Ford-guy all the way, but it's no more than a cult car these days.

Lets not forget the FACT that the focus rs/st and escort are proper cosworth. mk 2/3+ is VOLVO engine you may as well buy a volvlo, as an investment then you have to buy pure cosworth sorry but they are shit

Mk1 is missing that 4x4. I never understood why Ford didn't make it 4x4. It simply doesn't make sense.
4x4 would make it best hatch in history till this day.
