Donald. Are you ok with the millions of dollars we give the oil companies in subsidies every year? Or the Billions of dollars we spend every year protecting oil interests around the world? Yes. that was BILLIONS with a B! The only way for the U. S. to get off of oil is to INVEST in new technologies! The internal combustion engine has been around for over 100 years. Isn't it time we looked at other types of engines? The car may not be perfect but we have to start somewhere.

they make us pay as much money as they can, but in reality, we are in no danger of running out of petroleum. Even if we did, we still have biofuels and an overabundance of natural gas which PERPETUALLY is created by geologic forces. The overall biomass of Earth DOES NOT decrease because we don't eject organic matter into space. WE ARE IN NO DANGER OF RUNNING OUT OF FOSSIL FUELS. That's a lie the oil industry uses to make us pay more.

You do realize if we run out of petrol, we'd run out of electricity too right? Solar power is far too inefficient to run any machinery and all the other alternative energy requires petrol to produce since the factories we make parts in need it.
O and by the way, if we ran out of petrol, we could still use other forms of internal combustion. Alcohol for example or even steam.

-BlackHawk2669 simple answer; yes. But car sized turbine generators are at the very early prototype stage still. Note that the Jaguar PIH won't have them when it hitters the roads, despite sporting them in the prototype. Reason? Heat. Blimey they get hot! This means they wear out quickly.

Are you referring to the Tesla Model S or the Roadster? The Karma is more comparable to the Tesla Model S which is also a sedan and I promise you it is not tiny whatsoever. It has a trunk in the front, a trunk in the back and can seat 5 passengers and 2 children

Solar Panels haven't improved very much because they are still hostage to the Sun's availability and cloudy weather. They would work best if buildings in very sunny places had solar panel windows. In a city built that way, charging EV's would be a snap.
reply

What happens if you forget to charge it and you run out far away from any charging station? With this, as long as you have a little fuel in the tank to run the generator, you are good. No range anxiety.

You're saying the Tesla Model S sedan is a sports car? I realize it is fast, but it also has many features that would make it a luxury sedan.
You sure you're not thinking of the Tesla Roadster?

reply

Personally, I'd go for the Tesla Model S over this. Wholly battery, 300 mile range, seats 5 in comfort, and you get a huge luggage store in its nose.
reply

i love the car. only thing i would change is black out the chrome part around the front grill and also the fake chrome exhaust tips.
