For me it's like comparing Coke and a Pepsi here. We need to remember that the M5 is more suited for the German Autobahn. Where the Holden XR8 was more suited for the 500 odd kilometer's drive between Adelaide and Melbourne, or a better part of 1, 500 kilometers between Melbourne and Brisbane. Two different road network quality and environments. At the same idea, same overlapping idea's, but looking at different set of eye's.

Behind his words is Holden has more grip (independent rear suspension stop it from sliding)
Its grip is way way better then BMW, I'd go as far and say Holden is actuly a more refined car in the handling department, Holden handles better then BMW.
It on race track will flog M5

Ok your the wrong person to do this comparison if your going to complain about a manual (gts comes in a paddle shift) and correct me if im wrong the the m5 isnt a 6 speed like the gts so the 2nd gear pull isnt a fair comparison either.

Well the HSV/Vxr at some stage was compared to the M5 around Nurberg ring and the HSV beat it by 15 seconds. Touring car drivers drove both vehicles.
