It's the trade mark, the iconic symbol that is Porsche. It is a colossal revamp of the earlier model. Have a read up on the differences between the earlier model. If Porsche strayed away from the 911's original appearance, sales would decrease heavily (look at the 996 with it's completely redesigned head lights, then look at the sales prices compared to the 993. I would love to own one of these high end sports cars, it would be a true delight. Years of evolution can only be be a good thing? :-)

You know, when they first started putting hydraulic power steering it cars, it was also quite controversial and seen as a step backward. I'm not saying that EPS is better than the traditional hydraulic system, but I think if we give everyone a few years, we'll see some very good electric steering coming out. Just look at the first flappy-paddle gearboxes compared to today's double-clutch systems. And, electric power steering does sap less power, weigh less, and have lower maintenance.

I like autocar but hate this guy, he praises any car that's fairly expensive. He is incapable of finding any negatives in cars like this. He didnt even comment on how the new 911's electric steering compares to the 997's steering which is a very controversial change! How can he praise the steering, it's electric! He clearly doesnt remember what the steering felt like on the 997. Autocar can you please stop using this utter noob.

Just think they've barely changed the design since the 1960s. which is fine if you reckon you got it right first time so why change it. but to keep labelling each years effort as -. the all new. - when it's just a tweaked version of last years one is what gets me. I mean. the Lambo Miura looks nothing like the Countach which looks nothing like the Diablo and so on.
Good guitarist, by the way.

I wonder, why on earth Porsche cars are over priced like that?
And you know what friend, since a Porsche 911 is a sort of cult classic and also a brilliant sports car blended with the practicality of everyday driving many people doesn't care to think a bit about that hefty price tag before paying. Otherwise I am sure Porsche would have had a tough time staying in the competition.

well that depends. do u want to drive basically the fastest road car built in the past decade and can make anyone seem like they are an f1 driver. OOOOR do you want the full driving experience of a beautiful manual gear box, fabulous throaty flat six noise that is not muffled by induction and the handling of a rwd porsche?
I know which one i would rather

porsche are not overpriced, if anything theyre underpriced, the performance most have blows all other supercars with 200, 000 pricetags out of the water, the 911 turbo destroys the gtr, and is only a fraction behind the veyron 0-60, and 0-100 time, the gt3 rs is perhaps one of the funnest driving cars of all time, go porsche

Porsche cars are excessively over-priced here in my country, India than a same one for the USA or other western countries. I found out a Porsche 911 costs around 82, 100$ which is almost same as about 45, 15, 550. But it costs over 93, 00, 000. Porsche, could you please explain for what this extra amount of money is required for?

Don't ask Porsche, ask your government. They are responsible for the final price on cars with all their taxes and stuff. Here in Malaysia, we have one of the highest car prices in the world and that's due to the burdening taxes put on car by the government, not the automakers.
