The 2017 Nissan GT-R will receive a raft of improvements, including a 20bhp power increase, a new exhaust and a redesigned interior Christopher: The, -It drives like a video game- meme was, I'd always thought, the favourite slur of Baby-Boomers whose idea of a great drive neccessarily included an air-cooled Porsche and little leather gloves with little holes on the knuckles. A fine drive they are - indeed I hope to own a beautiful uber-beetle one day myself, though in a 're-created', non numbers matching form because said Greybeards have launched them into the fetish-sphere. So be it. What I'm saying is that the video game term was coined by people who never played video games - ever. In fact video games are their favourite thing to blame for teen pregnancy, gangs, street crime, movie previews with too many spoilers, global warming and fat people. Which is weird cause they're fat. anyway. So, here's what a GTR really does drive like, and this is really what the holes-in-their-gloves crowd were trying to get at but could not due to their pitifully inadequate technological comprehension. Driving a GTR, looking at a GTR, is like driving a Transformer. It's like looking at a Transformer. GTR owners swagger b/c they know that their best friend is a Transformer. It's going to have your back - whether with those epic ion-cannon thingys that a second ago were his hands, or just as impressively, if possibly less useful day to day, with epic all-weather grip that offers feelings of safety and exhileration all at the same time. I dont own a Transformer yet, but I like the idea of it and this new one looks biznizz. A car's interior, if I'm spending 6 figures or 4, is really important and the recent GTR interior was never appealing to me. This one is evolutionary but I like the Whacko-Jappo styling. I can dig it because now it's weird enough to be cool, and Transformery inside and outside. A better melding there, for sure. You never know what you're going to get from Nissan, unlike Toyota and Honda and even the other Asian, non-Japanese manufacturers, all have defined their brands within narrow, well defined parameters. Nissan as a result has coughed up some real horrors live and in real-time - to the world's horror. But they seem to understand that sometimes you're the windshield, sometimes you're the bug. Sometimes you're Godzilla, sometimes you come up Mothra, I guess. But check this 2017, it's a robotized Godzilla that Transforms into a car. F--% me, how cool is that?

Good revisions to the GT-R will make this car more competitive. Interior changes long overdue and we like the sound of the titanium exhaust. Still a heavy car though especially when compared to its competitors and certainly aggressive but not beautiful! Nissan engineers need to turn their attention to weight reduction next time.

still sounds like garbage, front looks better more aggressive less bulbous, but best part is the interior now, finally the fanboy mobile got a interior thats not plastic, cheap, and from the 370z. good job nissan.

these salesman, lol. -we changed this and that, blahblah-. no, you didnt do shit, some japanese engineers did. I hate how all these people who have nothing to do with the cars they (re)present talk.

great engineering as always never loved the outside design its ok but i always thought it could be a prettier car. Like the Porsche 911 constant upgrades of an iconic design
reply

hmmmm yes it's very exciting, mumble mumble, the leather is nice, it has an engine, the side skirts are efficient, mumblemumble. is this a Rover advert?
reply

Still as plastic on the inside! Nothing a Pprsche designer couldn't put right lol. Bloke sounds like a right Del Boy reading from a script lol

The front looks like it was tweaked by a Toyota, Honda or Lexus designer. Interior is an improvement apart from that disgusting Caramac colour.
reply

They cant be making any money on these, surely there are fewer and fewer buyers each year as the design becomes older and more expensive.

Why is he stood there with his arms crossed? Is he frightened of the Nissan man or does he just have no social skills?
