It's interesting to think how different our realities would have been had the Mclaren F1 never been dreamt up and built. We'd merely be living in regular reality of ordinary dreams, where only great cars exist. Nothing wrong with that. Perfectly fine reality to live in. But because the Mclaren F1 became part of our realities, gets to exist in our living imaginations, we've been living in a world of rarified reality, where unicorns exist. That's quite the gift Gordon Murray gave the world of ordinary folk: we've been living in a world of extraordinary imagination; where anything seems possible, thanks to him.

I fell in love with this car while I was a kid, playing Need For Speed II, an iconic video game as well. I don't dream about owning a car like this, I dream about seeing one in real life. It became so rare and expensive that the chances of just spotting a parking McLaren F1 down the street are close to zero, unfortunately. An epic timeless piece of art and machinery

I can't wait until the Gordon Murray Automotive T50 comes out. Made by the same guy that designed the McLaren F1, it's basically modernized F1. I know a guy getting one, and knowing him he will actually be driving his car, as he actually drives his other supercars. He has a Senna with 5000 (maybe even 6000 now) miles.

McLaren P1 and McLaren Senna are amazing cars, but what I like best about F1 is that I know it-s less powerful, older, but it-s still my favorite car. After all, a car is not just power and speed, it is a sensation, each car has a different feeling, and the feeling that I like the most comes from F1

For me, the F1 really is the greatest sports car of all time. If it had more luggage space, it would be the greatest GT of all time. For those of us who can't quite cover the payments on an F1, but are looking for a pure, lightweight, analog experience, I suppose a Lotus is the next best thing.

BMW's original mission was to make the engine 550bhp and as light as possible and missed the weight target by 17kg. Murrey forgave them because they produced 70+ bhp more than Gordon specified.

I love the F1. My ultimate dream car, but how do they claim the world record top speed when the Corvette Callaway Sledgehammer recorded 254mph in the 80s?

I still wish McLaren had made the Senna a 3-seater with a central cockpit.
It would have made way more sense than the Speedtail, in my opinion.

23: 19 That is the moment that proves the summation of all his points, the sheer spontaneous Joy of driving the pinnacle road car.

I would choose F1 all day before P1 and Senna. they are ugly and don't sounds so good. F1 is beautiful and sounds dreamlike
