When i watched this video, I think the Yaris has won, as more of a drivers car, Because its Small manual and fun most of all. Not like young 17 year olds can afford it but, The GTR for me is something more special you buy when you become successful in life and want a daily/track day GT type car to have fun with. But it's not a car to learn in as a new driver and not even a first car you would want. Because death is afoot, On the right peddle. Plus going from NFS midnight club driving games the little cars where the best to race and push to the limit. Fact is with a tune and some suspension tweaks lighter seats maybe bucket, the yaris is only a roll cage away from being really spec ow and brakes, But that GTR would never be a really car only track oriented. Plus on the road every one takes pictures wants to ask questions and wants to race with you in a Nismo but the yaris can skip under the radar.

I would have liked to have seen the footage from both the timed laps. To better compare both cars and driver.
A standard GTR in the wet is a handful, and my first ever experience in one on a very wet track had the rear completely step out coming out of a slow radius hair pin when I tried to give it some. My immediate reaction was to back of the throttle, steer in, straighten up and go again.
If you don-t have any confidence in the car, keeping your foot in and hoping the electronics sort it out, is to be honest not really on the table.
So I can understand a lighter more balanced and tractable car, producing a better lap time.
Swap to a racing driver, or equivalent tyres and I-m convinced this would have been a different result.

Usual marketing campaign, paid journalist review, saw something similar when mk2 focus RS came out, saying as fast as GTR, when in reality there not even close. With a decent driver I'm guessing there's a big differece

On the nurburgring the gtr absolutely destroys the yaris
A r33 gtr is also faster then the yaris on the nurburgring and that cars 25 years old and its not running on michellen pilot 4s which makes a huge difference

Why does almost every review of the GR Yaris that has the optional pack just ignores the stiffer sway bar when it contributes a lot to the handling.

I-d love someone to do a summary of the pros and cons of the three drive settings on the GR Yaris, i. e. best for fast road and how different they feel.

At least Nissan exported the GT-R to the states, another fail for Toyota, first the Supra and now not exporting the GR Yaris to the US.
