Auto Express' Mat Watson talks you through buying a used car in this useful video guide, sponsored by HPI David: The comment about buying privately / always meet at the seller-s house so you know where to go to complain if something goes wrong after buying to complain - Sorry but private sellers are under no obligation to do anything and most won-t - buyer beware! If you want a money-back guarantee then buy from a trade seller / dealer!

Great Video clip! Sorry for the intrusion, I would appreciate your thoughts. Have you considered - Saankramer Vehicle Statement System (do a search on google? It is an awesome one off guide for getting paid to drive without the hard work. Ive heard some awesome things about it and my cooworker got amazing results with it.

I got a 4 year old Toyota from a Toyota dealer, it was in perfect like new condition except the tires were a but worn, but came with an in built sat nav, only had 16000 miles on it too. It was probably more expensive than buying private, but so far I found it great for a used car.

Great video. Just a note, -mayonnaise oil- can just be that the car has been used for short journeys, the oil never heats up enough to evaporate any normal water vapor in the oil. My car has always had mayo oil for the sole reason I only drive I 5km a day. No other problems.

you should leave the seller behind while test driving? :) Are you nicking the car. The buyer does not trust the seller and the seller does not trust the buyer. That is the game so no way I am letting anyone test drive a car without me in as a seller: )

worth noting too that since this video was made the rules have changed you have to tax the car yourself a car cannot have remaining tax on it the moment its sold the seller gets the remaining tax left and you have to retax it yourself

Be aware of second-hand car sellers. There are too many scammers and cheaters who sell their cars at a good price which is not worthy of those car conditions.
