I had a car like this and when my engine blew I just bought a 500 dollar jdm here in los angeles, installed it myself and car ran exlnt for the 3 years I drove it until I sold it in perfect running condition a few months ago. the only thing I don't recommend for 01 to 05 civics is jdm transmission because you will get a code p0740 even tho the transmissions are good, they are just not 100 percent compatible l. but enginewise they r good.

Cool Man! I had a 04 Civic EX 5spd manual, got it new with 0. 09 miles on the ODO. I know a lot about that model! 2 transmissions, 2 flywheels, balls joints, cv shafts, suspension repairs, but the one thing I never had to touch was that 1. 7 motor! Traded it in at 180K - oh and the Air intake temp sensor likes to fall out of the intake.

I had two head gaskets go on my 94 civic. Repaired this and it went for almost 500 000kms. Power steering rack started to leak this year so I finally sold it to a wrecker. Had it 24 years not bad for driving it in the extreme salt belt of Ontario canada. I bought the car when I worked at the Honda manufacturing plant.

They took that guy for a ride on the heater core replacement. Not a chance in hell would there be no evidence of a change under the dash. That just sucks, how can anybody do such a thing and sleep at night. In my book there's nothing worse than a thief. Not a bad car, fix it and flip it. Thanks for the video.

Right. Head gasket leak, low on coolant so heater wasn't working right? So they added some coolant, maybe changed the oil mess and charged him for a heater core. Terrible. This is why I have to have a lot of outstanding reviews before taking my cars to anyone.

Yeah no way the heater core was done, oldest trick in the book, charge for something there is no way an average customer can confirm was/wasn't done. Customer, always ask for old parts back to at least put pressure on shop to know your no nob.

I have a civic like that one (but it's the sedan) and I love it. Other than the lack of power, it's quite fun to drive. Mine's been dead reliable too, and what little things I've had to fix have been relatively easy.
