Great stuff, Eric!
A bit of imagination and commonsense, and a lot of people can avoid getting ripped off by manufacturers and main dealers.
It makes me wonder; all the fancy gizmos and electronics that there are cars today, in order to comply with emissions regulations in THE FIGHT AGAINST GLOBAL WARMING WHICH WILL DESTROY THE ENTIRE PLANET! (yeah, right. .. ) - were those regulations dreamt up by governments who believe that eco-warrior BS? Or did manufacturers 'suggest' them to politicians so they'd have an excuse for adding all sorts of fancy, expensive, and prone to break down gizmos onto our cars - increasing their profits and forcing us to use main dealers (rather than being able to check our own oil levels?
Cynical? Who, ME? Damn RIGHT I am!

I am guessing you have a second job selling replacement tranys? The reason for this is ATF+4 expands a LOT during temperature changes. So some local service tech thinks the fluid is low and over fills it. Then the ATF+4 foams up because it is over full. Foam = bubbles. Bubbles = air. Air through a trans pump is VERY bad and kills a pump. I have an Avenger sitting in my drive with this exact problem because some used car dealers tech though he knew better than FCA. You are hashing at the max range on the chart for max on the diptick. Unless you are towing up hill in the summer the 62te will never get that so everyone doing this and checking it hot will be over filling their transmissions.

That dealer use only is illegal.
The right to repair concept has generally come from the United States. Within the automotive industry, Massachusetts passed the United States' first Motor Vehicle Owners' Right to Repair Act in 2012, which required automobile manufacturers to provide the necessary documents and information to allow anyone to repair their vehicles. While not passed at the federal level, the major automobile trade organizations signed a memorandum to agree to abide by Massachusetts' law in all fifty states starting in the 2018 automotive year.
Thus they should provide a dip-stick and anything else necessary so the owner can do it themselves.

Just bought a used 2011 Chrysler town and country minivan touring. The owners manual says to replace the transmission fluid at 124, 000 miles. Im at 100, 000 miles today. I have been told by other transmission people in the past that after 100, 000 miles you should never touch the transmission fluid because changing the fluid has a detergent affect And changing the fluid can cause the transmission to start slipping. Whats your opinion on this?

I had just researched this very topic for my 2015 Dodge Durango. On that trans, the engine oil dip stick is too short and will not reach the pan. BUT, you gave me the method to find something long enough to get the reading. THANK YOU! Bill in CT.

Please, how many quartz of ATF4+ does the transmission take after a fluid change? With these marks as references, I added only 4 litres, while many guys mention 5. 5 quarts. I just want to avoid over filling. Please help. Thanks

The Genius of Simplicity.
Thanks so much!
I imagine that is where you can add the transmission fluid as well?
I can't thank you enough. But I can hit The Sub.

Advanced auto sells them like 15 to 20 bucks.
They have assorted sizes Purchase a transmission dip stick and cut it down to your need.
