That's right! WE ALL HAVE BAD DAYS! Even Eric O! Probably more often then you know! Wrong parts, crappy parts, upset customers, jobs that go south and just time consuming making mistakes. Whatever the cause is it just makes the day plain old suck! So come along with Eric O as he uses the camera as his therapy to vent to you haha!

Years ago I bought a remanufactured water pump for a 2001 Ford windstar lx, yeah one of those things. So bad they changed the name of the vehicle and it still kick the bucket. Anyways small rant. Old scar. Put it on, leaked. Took it back and got another remanufactured pump, cracked and leaked. I gave up and bought a brand new one and boom it was good to go. So never again will I ever or advise anyone to buy a remanufactured part. J. U. N. K. JUST UNUSABLE NONWORKING KRAP! Yeak that's right. I hit it with the k. Doesn't deserve the C.

I have felt your pain too many times. Occasionally when I do some side work on Honda's or Toyota. I will ONLY install Denso Remanufactured. If they instead on Carquest or Durlast I tell them hit the road jack. I explain why and they always AGREE or hit the road jack. Knock on lots of wood I have had only one Alternator come back in 3 years.
P. s 95% of the time Advance will have a Denso Remanufactured if they have the Carquest part also. Just saying. Keep up all the great videos. Your a true inspiration to do things RIGHT!

Been a boat mechanic for about 16 years now and have seen a few things. Sierra is the dorman is the marine industry. I simply refuse to use Sierra for any repairs. They are complete junk. When I am forced to use them ( customer supplied parts) I make it clear that I will be doing the job again way sooner than o. e. m, and of course they say but the o. e. m parts are to expensive. Of course the boat comes back and they are upset. Especially when they find out how much a tow costs when they break down. I feel your pain bro.

I got one for you I got 2000 frontier Nissan truck. I had three engine's put in from Napa and all we're junk. So I got one from advance auto and it's junk it's knocks and use radiator fluid. So I told my wife run to it blows up l will be buying a new truck this year. Let's not going into the time belt, the whole distributor, timing sensor and vacuum. My advice don't buy a Nissan truck. I know you say Dorman is a multi million dollar company and what do they care, but you have a voice from all of us mechanics out there and there's power to that. I went thru 5 brake rotors from advanced and had to keep replacing them after every 5-6 months because it would start to vibrate. I was able to use the machine to cut the rotors when they started vibrating and it lasted longer for now

Kind of like the old rock and a hard place syndrome. The remans are Mexican, the new ones are Chinese copies. A buddy of mine bought a new genuine Motorcraft alternator for his Lincoln from Rock Auto. Not cheap. Their webpage called it Service design, that turns out to be cryptic for it's not really an original, it is the same Chinese junk you can buy on eBay for 1/3 the price.

The big box parts stores put the mom & pop stores out of business. The guys who work at the big box stores can't get a break because they have to carry the inventory to support shops like Eric's and they cant' afford to carry very much OEM stuff so instead they have the Chinese alternators and rebuilt steering racks.

It's easy to not overpromise and underdeliver. You shouldn't have promised the car at a certain time until it was actually done. This is from years of owning my own businesses. I am not perfect and had made that mistake also, I just learned from it and never did it again.

I'm with you Eric fixing something multiple times is for the birds. I went through 2 aftermarket fuel pumps once before getting an OEM
part about a hundred bucks more but worth it because it's been working well the last 4+ years and no
more problems.

I get mine at autozone but I make them test it before I put it in Ive had good luck with them. If I had to do a starter 3 times Im afraid the 5 rounds wood be in advanced auto! Thats like having a Goodman air conditioner junk I fix a lot of them
