Due to many issues with my 4WD system and the fact that I will never go off-road and I have some free donor 2WD tranny parts. Also, I have a lot of time/ in my current truck and it would most definitely not be cheaper to sell it and buy a 2WD truck. As well as my current 4L60E is recently rebuilt with a shift kit and so on and so on. No more need to justify this, let's get on with it: ) I want to convert my 4WD 1995 Tahoe/4L60E to 2WD. Exactly, what all do I need to do? I know that I will need a 2WD output shaft and 2WD tail-housing for my trans, as well as switching from 4WD hubs to 2WD hubs in the front. But is there anything else at all I need to do? Will a different length driveshaft to the rear diff be needed? Once I remove the transfer case, front drive shaft, front diff and CVs - then install the 2WD output shaft and tail-housing and 2WD hubs, will there be anything else I need to do? Once I switch over to a 2WD output shaft and tail-housing, the 4WD trans will be good to go? Nothing else is needed to be done to the trans? Thank you in advance for any help.

For me watching this is like reliving a nightmare. I did learn a technique Maybe somehow common. after driving myself crazy trying. pulling the socket up while on extension to the nuts or bolts transmission mount and then anchoring off the string. Back down underneath to the socket driver wha-la. I did notice top driver side bell housing and hole broken off on transmission. so I have not all mounting bolts. as I now egg vehicle down Road crossing my fingers. until I can have ability to afford a mechanic. I was changing flywheel. On my 97 GMC 3500 Sierra pickup truck. In the street at onset of covid-19 shut down at times in the rain. On floor jacks and stands. with policeman stopping in middle of Road wondering once what I was doing. short dialogue. well good luck. Stay safe. . haha

2 years later, Advance hasn't changed at all. Everytime I cave and go back there, I'm reminded why they are last on the list. I've kind have been a NAPA guy for the last few years, they used to be so high I couldn't justify it, but their prices came down a little and the rest got so bad I just started going there 1st. Now the NAPA prices are going up again, I think Advance and AZ drove so many customers to NAPA, they decided to up the price structure again. O'Reilly just moved into NY, I'm thinking it's time to give them a chance. Rockauto is waiting in the wings. Cheap but no customer service, sold me a wrong set of valves last year and I ended up eating them. They learned CS from the Chinese.

I just replaced my transmission in my 2007 Chevy Silverado when you go to start it nothing happens when the key is in the off position the battery light seat belt light and ABS light stays on if you disconnect the battery and hook it back up none of that is on until you try to start it and then when the key is in the off position it'll stay on after that any ideas

Late to the party by a year and I have yet to see part 2. Did you ever look at monster transmission as a source for rebuilds?
I've never used them because I haven't had to. I can't imagine advance is selling quality anything. Regardless, thanks for the awesome videos. They make me want to get back in my work shop and fix my 4Runner!

Customer goes to a Jasper transmission dealer, decides to install a cheaper Advance Auto rebuild, and the poor Jasper dealer ends up eating 50% of his fee to install the second Advance Auto tranny after the first Advnce auto tranny turns out to have been rebuilt by guys who got fired by Dorman for their poor quality work.

Hey Eric. great video. I'm not sure if you are aware that if you had purchased the rebuild from the dealer, you would not be replacing the transmission.
The dealer would be doing it under warranty so you are protected from comebacks.

When I was young I replaced the 727 torqueflite 3 in my 67 charger they were just junkyard Exchange did it on the ground pressing the transmission by hand up into the back of the motor those were the days

advance auto bits your ass again. I have had nothing but bad luck with them. Bought a starter from them and 3 bad ones later got refund and bought at NAPA not my first or last refund bad part with them.

The connections on the side of the transmission for the cooling tubes were tapped for A. N. HARDWARE.
