I have a look at a Toyota Tundra that came in with the service engine soon light on and a P0500 stored in the computer. I also notice the speedometer didn't work and the ABS light was on. Let's have a look

Hey there Mr. O, been watching and enjoying your content on here. I enjoy working on and fixing cars but I have a problem with a car I just cant figure out.
Bought a 2007 525i with a bad motor and ended up swapping the motor with another from a 2006 525i that was said to have 80k miles. The motor was a long block with a flex plate at the back with no other accessories. Before doing the swap, I resealed the motor with all new gaskets and seals including the front main seal. I pulled my motor and tranny out from my car in one piece. when I went to mount the replacement motor to my original transmission, one of the 6 torque converter bolts wouldnt line up after snuggly mounting the other 5. I took off the transmission and replaced the flex plate with the one on my motor. All bolts lined up and transmission was on. I installed the motor in the car and have had codes p1553 and p1554 ever since initial start up and have tried all sensors that could possibly be the problem. These are intake and exhaust correlation codes saying the engine position is not correct. The car runs very smooth but exhibits a lack of power.
Sorry for the long post but am desperately trying to figure out the issue with the car as I feel I have tried everything I can possibly think of. Would you have an idea as to what it could be?
Willing to do anything at this point.

I like the solder/seal connectors but there's a couple of things I found you have to do to make them work best: 1) clean the wires back to bright copper. Solder don't flow over green or black wires; and, 2) provide mechanical support for the repaired wires. Solder doesn't make a very strong physical connection on it's own. Clamping the wire on both sides of the repair works best. If you can't support the wire you're better off using crimp connectors and separate heat shrink.

A quick note to those that have this same generation tundra (00-06. Lights for A/C control nobs go out prematurely. Very common problem due to the vinyl bulb covers causing them to overheat. Replacing the bulbs is very easy, just be sure to use either clear or painted ones to avoid the same problem. Several people I know with these tundras didn't even know those controls were supposed to be backlit.

When it comes to electrical tape, I don't use the good thick stuff like 3M 33. I use the cheap stuff because it is thinner and more flexible and is perfect for low voltage applications like vehicles. I also keep the roll in my pocket to keep it nice and warm and flexible.

Eric O? Anyway you could walk the YouTube crowd around a New York State inspection including installing the passing sticker. That would be cool. I always wondered what has to function right and other parts that slide.

I work for a GM dealer. We see a lot of non gm cars(all kinds even euros) we have alldata. If i can convince the dealer to buy another subscription to another source of information what would you recommend?

2007 Toyota Corolla s. my speedometer still works but the vehicle rev out high wen I drive it. Code p0500. and I had replaced the output sensor and same thing. Could I have gotten the wrong one?

Wiring design is laughable. I would have put large heat shrink over the spliced wires instead of electrical tape. 160k. the vehicle is entering end of life. time for a reset.

You're an awesome mechanic, I'd like you to work on my vehicles. If you'd move to the South you wouldn't have to work on rusted cars and would have a ton of business.

That old chestnut, you fix one thing and then there is a cascade event like an avalanche of failures and before you know it, youve replaced half the truck!
