I show one of the very strong points of the OTC Evolve and the way they handle their Mode 6 data. Especially on older Fords when you are trying to track down a misfire. Really nice feature in my opinion. The Trainer #62: Digging Into The First 5 Modes Of OBD II: The Trainer #63 - Global OBD II Modes 6 Thru 10

Nice video. Would you recommend the Evolve to a mid-level tech trying to get promoted and earn more money? Our shop has a Snap On scanner running on Windows XP, which is a joke in 2020. Looking at the manual and bidirectional control list for the Evolve, it looks like a very powerful tool. My only concern is hardware performance. Some reviews say it takes forever to boot up and flip through menus, like the Bravo 3. 0 software is demanding too much from the processor and RAM.

It often surprises me how infrequently IT coding professionals take the time to understand their customers' work flow. If they did, they would design software to be much more intuitive. Ultimately this means a better product that will quickly rise to the top, and stay there for years.

I have an OTC Genisys touch that was cleaned out and has the most current update and I love it probably one of my favorite scanners. I know everyone says The Encore and evolve is a whole lot better but I really like the way they're laid out, it is simplified easy to read and understand.

Also. if I remember from my Ford stealership days. otc makes rotunda tools. which are the Ford factory special tools. so maybe otc has their mits in the IDS software too which would explain the similarities

V10 Ford engines hairline cracked coils causing intermittent misfires extremely common. You gotta really inspect the coils sometimes to find the hairline cracks, until they crack bigger of course causing more misfires.

Nice. Mode 6 is under used so much. Great points you made, and nice that you mentioned the values that need to be met before a failure shows up. I am curious if the Encore has the same software or not.

Fish bites and lots of abbreviations. Please try to avoid too much jargon. This is the first time I have had to complain. All your other videos are so down to earth and totally enjoyable.

Power balance is not that great on the Launch either. depending on the year of the vehicle though.
Same goes with the relative compression test. so far 99 and earlier, these features don't work

I'm sure you get tons of questions, but I have an electrical issue that neither I nor the transmission shop can figure out. Any chance I can email you? Any input/advice would be greatly appreciated.

My guess is people wont be wanting to purchase multiple scanners but are looking for whats going to give the most Snap, AUTEL, OTC etc. cant expect out or anyone to endorse one though.
