i used to own a 1980 vw dasher that didn't run and boy what a learning curb that was. finally figured out the previos owner had wired the fuel pump to the tail lights so it would run when i turn the headlights on but there was 12v on the fuel lines! and it messed up the fuse box changed the fuse box and the headlight switch and wired the fuel pump to a relay and it ran beautiful until the starter went out i finally sold it to a guy who loves vw's. paid 25 bucks for the car sold it for 200 and i learned a bit about vw's

My jetta has code 2431. This error only causes the CEL to light up after two cold engine starts. the first one detects the fault and if in the second match the fault persists, the CEL lights up. Is there any way to reset the ECU so that I can validate the result after sensor replacement? Because I have to wait for the engine to cool before I can start it again.
I apologize if I have any errors, but I do not speak English and I used google translator to write this text.

I ran the same OTC meter for while. Until it got a bath in DEF. if/when you have to replace it, the Klein brand at Home Depot is awesome. I have two. One traditional and one with a built in amp clamp. The auto range a/c and d/c to 400 amps, so you dont really have to worry about popping a fuse. Both are under 100.

Awesome job on that VeeDub! I only dealt with secondary air injection with my '00 Yukon with the big 5. 3, the air injection valves would crust up and had to replace them. Great diagnosis as someone below said, if Hans can do it, I can do it! Not likely though, your diagnosing skills far exceed mine, but I'm learning.

Loved the series Eric! I have a soft spot for VAG and hope you do more videos when they come in the shop.
VCDS by Ross-Tech is what most independent shops use in the US for troubleshooting VAG, it's inexpensive and is updated regularly.

Eric, remember, VW has had some issues with their EVAP systems. Lol
Btw check out Ross Tech. They make the software that communicates with the in board diag systems in VW/Audi. It's a very much more automated diagnostic experience.

Had a shop throw the pressure sensor, the tube, a secondary air pump AND a new egr on one of these. Pulled the tube from the edge to the head and found massive carbon build up on the head side.

Theres probably a good DIY thread for this repair on the VW forums. When unfamiliar with a certain model, I seriously recommend people start with a google search on a cars online forum.

Not generally a Volkswagen fan. but a friend of mine had a 2001 Volkswagen Passat back when it was new. . It was very nice car but not sure how reliable it was as it got older.
