Beware of alignment machines with targets that attach to the non concentric tires or even hub caps. This is never as reliable as a wheel rim which can still be crooked.
After having a family members 98 Le Sabre aligned at a local Tire Store I discovered that the car now had a worse pull than before so after several attempts at getting them to solve the alignment problem The tire company chain closed that store and opened a All New store with All New Gear for tire mounting, balancing and alignment racks. I told the NEW manager of the problem I had with the old store and they did one more alignment for no charge on the new rack, a Hunter Visu aligner with all the latest 2019 version hardware and Bingo. That cured the problem of the pulling and the steering wheel was now straight. The old store managers assured me that the alignment machine was recently calibrated and checked out 100% ( Oh Yea ) I wonder how many other customers have had the same results and BS story told to them at the old store? Imagine That?

Congrats on the machine. I work in racing. we still set up strings for toe. But we also set ride heights and corner weights. But wi the measurements. You are so right on how they change. We put balast in for the driver weights and also but the fuel load the engineers give us so we can be as close as possible. anyway. great vids man. Thanks.

Sweet rack, (no pun intended and not a sponsor, and a-liner setup. I learned first on an old Rotary Laser alignment setup. Crude and dirty but the local PD never complained after I was done and drove away! And yes. I did test drive the cars on a back street with lights and sirens cranked to 11! Thanks for the vids sir and family!

Nice to see you try and center those marks. The Schwab just turns shit into the green and sends it. Although, i did ask for 1 degree of negative camber in the front of my 97 Grand Marquis and they did it. Really helped the massive under-steer problem it had

Explain to me how a guy can do alignments all winter with little problem, but when the temperature hits 90 deg. almost every job requires firing up the torch and heating the jam nuts? Can't have the torch heat in the winter. just the summer

14: 49. make sure you align your front turntable so when it comes down on it that you're not pegged out.
Good tip Eric, cos, like these gadgets are standard issue installed in everyone's garage: )

Hey Eric! I'm off work for 4 weeks due to a surgery so I'm catching up on your videos. You are an awesome mechanic and I'm learning a lot from you, even at 61! lol Ray from Salinas, Ca.

Interesting to see that done. I played hell finding a shop with the correct wheel adapters. Roadmaster has the same issue as early Caprice. Built in skirts.

My grandpa did this on my first car many many years ago. He used some kind of measuring stick and chalk on the garage floor. I wish I had paid attention.
