If the charity is well-managed and if most of its funds serve the needy rather than its own management, then I don't care if the auction winners are spending huge amounts of money on license plates. I think these people are in an endless d -swinging contest anyway, so let them live in their own mental prisons of never-ending comparison of self to others.

If I was financial secure then I would 100% think about if you can bid at auction for 15-25% profit not only you are helping towards the charity you have made capital gains so realistically you can have your original investment back and spree on the rest or donate back to a charity. Simple!

Shouldn t the plates be made from for example: Diamond, Gold, Silver, or platinum? Some type of mineral that is extremely rare to be worth what it is.
