Sell your car for free with Carwow: The Bugatti Chiron replacement has finally been unveiled! Meet the Bugatti Tourbillon! Mat’s flown over to France to get up close and personal with this all-new hypercar, and he’s being given a guided tour of it with Bugatti’s CEO, Mate Rimac! So let’s check out what’s new compared to the Chiron. When it comes to the design, there are a whole lot of changes. It’s a brand-new car from the ground up, with no hints of Chiron remaining bar classic design cues such as the horseshoe grille and two-tone C-shape in the rear quarter. Around the back, there is an absolutely massive diffuser, coupled with a huge light bar that has the brand name built into the light. Along the side, the classic Chiron shape remains, while up front there are several vents, including flying fenders’ which guide air under the headlights & around the side of the car. Step inside and the design is classic Bugatti. The level of luxury is absolutely incredible, with absolutely no plastic to be found throughout. There are no visible screens anywhere, although a small screen will pop out of the dash to allow phone mirroring & the camera feed for the reversing camera. What’s more, there’s no digital driver display - the entire instrument cluster is analogue, with the gears that run fully visible. These are also framed by a gorgeous steering wheel which rotates around them. All-in-all, it looks absolutely stunning! Then we get to the power unit. The W16 has been stripped out, and it’s been replaced with an incredible 8. 3-litre naturally-aspirated V16! This is further supported by three electric motors, and they combine to produce 1, 800hp and 2, 300Nm! These work together to propel the Tourbillon to 62mph in less than 2 seconds, and it has a top speed of 277mph. Oh, and the V16 redlines at a fantastic 9, 500rpm All in, the Tourbillon will come in at 3, 800, 000. So is it worth it And more importantly, is it a worthy successor to the Chiron You’ll need to stick with Mat and see for yourself!

You can’t build a pure EV only and I’m fully onboard with EV’s and justify that price. You can make one of the most powerful naturally aspirated Engines that is close to a work of art and have the usual high end styling and luxury surrounding it. The price is exclusivity as this is not a millionaires Car but more a Billionaire. I’d be disappointed if that guy that looks like Zeus in Monaco ( if your into Cars you’ll know him) hasn’t just pressed the order button by invitation of course. It better come with a Watch I like it can go full EV mode for crawling round Monaco and go full beans on the roads out of town. I must emit I switch the Stop/Start off my Car every time. Imagine driving this and getting 50 mpg brilliant.

Wow. That engine is incredible.
That being said it’s always hard to except when an engine changes what it’s known for the 4 turbos like the new z06 is NA and not supercharged but the new z06 is still incredible.
That’s how I feel about this engine. It’s so cool. I can’t wait to see the versions that this car will have. It will be a few years but man the SS will be Insane

This was a great interview. the CEO grows on people quite easily but that could be mat's great interview skills or both. What a machine! I like the EV implementation here. its totally acceptable and does not appear to steal the grunt and the brawn of the v16!
oh and being an amateur watch enthusiast. i was pleasantly surprised by the name tourbillon. This was a home run Mate!

The interior is a rip off of the Honda Sprocket Concept, Citroen C5 steering and Lexus Altezza dials. Rear end a rip of McLaren, the rest just looks like a Chiron. I guess at least it has a better engine and not some VW hack job of welding two engines together. 3. 2m for this shite, could have a barn full of some of the greatest sports cars made for that price.

Whilst I admired the previous two iterations that car is stylistically the one that makes me covet one though I doubt I'll ever see one in the flesh. I'm sure Mate must be working 25hrs a day 8 days a week to achieve everything he sets out to do. Amazing guy in charge of an amazing project.

This makes the Veyron look so dated. As someone who still remembers that as the absolute ultimate feat of automotive engineering and Clarkson taking about how epic the acceleration was I cannot even begin to imagine how a car that weighs less and has 800 more horsepower can feel.

Metre long crankshaft. 8. 3 litres. Let that sink in. He only added that small electric battery to this car to get around western cities emissions laws. Good luck trying to fool them with this trick when in reality the owners will be driving in petrol mode.

Nikola Tesla all the electricity and beyond, Mate Rimac the man who made the fastest electric car ever, I mean the smartest people are from the balkans, aren't we gonna agree on that finally! We definitely have influence on the earth.

the thing i hate about car this generation is ALL SCREEN! , i mean if something happens with the screen you can't even see the car's stats, engine temps, speed ect, .. ., Mate is the Man! , can't wait for the production version

I don't understand why they only put in a 1000hp V16. I mean, Bugatti has brilliant engineers and they can make 1000hp with a V12, I believe. Or they could make more power with this massive 8. 3L engine

To have Mate Rimac as the CEO of Bugatti was a stroke of genius. The man has genuine passion and engineering knowledge. He knows every little detail on this car and the reasoning behind it. Great video

Tbh i wish the car had only the naturally aspirated engine with manual gearbox without electric powertrain because of weight reduction reasons. But i dont wanna cry. The actual car how they made it is great.

I love that a tourbillon in a watch is both beautiful and indispensible for precision and yet hidden while in this car the mechanism is superfluous but totally visible (right in your face literally!

I just find that VW brand gear shifter shape from the Golf or the 911 to be funny even if it’s solid crystal. Is it to say that Bugatti owners have a golf as there daily driver.
reply

Just the funniest thing in the world all that power and engineering for what no one is ever going to use this to it’s full potential, just going to be a showpiece in some garage
reply

Finaly a real dasboard, with classic indicators. Not a hyper gigantic screnn with touch screen. Real interior with butons, and clasic indicator, what real people want.
reply

The fact that he decided to go again from zero for this car instead of taking the chassis of the Chiron or the Nevera is truly incredible. Hats off to Mate Rimac

somebody give this man a coke. Coolest chap in the room.
matterfact, bring my man Christian in here too!
coolestMotor Ceo's to ever walk planet earth!

NGL that speedometer is dangerous because 70 on that is so low if i owned one id go faster just to see how much of the dash i could take up. It would be tempting
